I read somewhere that Trey was supposed to sign with the colts when the ravens traded for Crosby wild turn of events
I wonder who will pick up Richardson if he is allowed the trade he wants. What pick would someone give up for him? 6th round?
It's crazy to go from #4 overall to what they'll likely get for him in a trade. He's a classic example of someone that would have benefited greatly from another year in school to develop his craft. Injuries have derailed his career, so maybe taking the money was the right thing for him. It will be interesting to see who takes a chance on him.
So the Colts traded 2 #1s for Sauce, locked in Danny Dimes and Alec Pierce to large contracts, and the Texans got one of their O-linemen. Not bad.
I don't love not acquiring a vet center so far, but picking up Chris Paul on a cheap multi-year deal to play LG would make me feel better. I really like Logan Jones before the combine, but man... he got SSSHHHOOORRRTTTT arms. Ersery - Paul - Jones - Ingram - B. Smith backed up by Fisher, Kingston, Andrews. Patterson, Brown ain't the worst thing in the world
I figure we are done with starting level OL free agent signings. Barring a trade for an IOL, I see us drafting a guard between rounds 1-3. We will get to training camp, Trent Brown will look as good as he has had in years, fully healed from injuries. The guard we draft will probably not be ready to do what the Texans want - run mauling, so they will look at Braden and go "guess what you are now Tytus Howard" and move him to RG to get the best 5 OL out there. If we draft a center, they might unseat Andrews outright during training camp.
I hate the "Get the best 5" strategy. This is the same crap BOB always pulled with focusing on versatility over being great at one position.
It is a truly lame strategy. I wonder how far Caserio will reach to draft Tyren Montgomery out of John Carrol smh you know it's coming.
It's only been 12 years since BOB first brought his philosophies to Houston. It will work eventually.
