Adebayo’s game tonight didn’t destroy basketball. 43 free throw attempts is beyond gross, though.

However, it does guarantee significant changes to the lottery are coming. If the Wizards weren’t blatantly tanking, he likely doesn’t have this historic performance.

Bam is not known as a scorer.

His 83 pts tells NBA is not good nowadays.

 

If he can score 25 points anytime he wants to - then he needs to score 25 points a game, because that would make him close to a franchise player.

He is one of the very clear building blocks that should be a Rocket long term if he isn’t dealt for a franchise player.

If he averages 20 points a game the rest of the way - that will be a very impressive end to the season. Defensively he has taken a step back, but his offensive role has increased and I count on one hand the number of non centers that didn’t see their defense suffer when their offensive role increased.

 

Kobe’s record? What record? Wilt has the record.

People point to Bam playing the Wizards but if you saw the Kobe game, the effort and defense was poor. He did it against a bad Raptors team.

The only reason people are uncomfortable with it is that Bam isn’t a star.

Luka not long ago had like 75. I wouldn’t be shocked if someone like Maxey or Flagg scores 80+ points in the next few years.

 

Agreed.. and the other reason is Kobe being a Laker.

LA fans constantly overrate him.. or, at least the ones born after 1980. Kobe is better than Shaq and LeBron too. Ask them.

Kobe shot right around 50% FG that game.

Eta: well hot damn... Adebayo was 20-43 FG with 43 FTA. Great feats, but very ugly. People didn't like Booker's 70 either. Great for Rockets fans and Lakers haters that Kobe is no longer 2nd.

 

Yeah seriously. Like he’s deliberately not trying to score 25 points every game. WTF

 

We are… despite what some idiots might say. We are still a top tier ranked defense.

That was my point… and yet the Spurs just scored 145 against us a game ago. Everyone has the occasional less than stellar performance. And our defense sometimes looks good and sometimes looks poor… I’m sure they are the same.

the original question was is our offense this bad or the defense this good and when that question was asked… it was cause the offense looked terrible at that moment.

There were moments in this game where the offense looked good and there were longer stretches where our offense looked one dimensional. I prefer when there is good ball and player movement and it looks good (cause I hated the ISO Harden years.)
