Put him at guard for now. Would absolutely bolster the running game and would cut down on QB pressures up the middle. More of a natural fit at G anyway and can prolong his career there. His RT versatility gives you the ability to truly go best OL available whenever you decide to draft one instead of having to go with a single position on the OL. This move raises the floor of the OL significantly.
Why do you say this? Smith is much better than Robinson has been in the last 5 yrs. Besides they dont even play the same position.
The finesse OL of yesteryears is unraveling, and it’s glorious to see it. The Texans swallowed a few bitter pill in accepting their mistakes in building that abomination. Gone are Tunsil, Green, Scruggs, Howard, all guys who were highly touted as a unit that was going to be elite. There were some eilite players in that mix, like Tunsil; but when the system is about junk…. Well you start all over, and that’s what the Texans finally had the guts to do the right way.
