Played guard in college. Run mauler type, fits our philosophy better. Trent Brown will play less than 10 games so he's RT backup and we'll see how they utilize him - a return to guard would be interesting.
In 2024, Smith was diagnosed with a type of obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) called religious scrupulosity. The disorder caused him to miss playing in the final five games of the 2024 NFL season and nearly drove him to retirement. He traveled to Mexico to be treated with ibogaine and 5-MeO-DMT, as the use of these psychedelic substances is banned in the United States, before returning home and beginning therapy. He reported improvement in his condition after the treatment.
I hope we keep him at RT. I don't trust Trent Brown to be healthy for a full season and would prefer to have him available to fill in as a swing. Which then brings us to Fisher, I think this training camp is his put up or shut up time. I'd really like to add another OG in FA and then draft 2 IOL in draft. In any case, signing Smith (righteous beard btw) makes me feel much better about where we're headed.
I thought at first you meant Smith was the 7th ranked OL free agent...which would've been a huge splash compared to last year. But 7th overall...wow.
