Oh whatever. I very remeber national media saying tatum and brown can’t coexist. Now you’re saying this about amen and sengun. The only common denominator is Ime.
I agree on all of your points. What do you think is the reason for Sengun's shot abandoning him? He seems more gun shy than Amen from the perimiter at this point even though his percentages are still better. One thing I like about Amen is he seems mentally strong. He doesn't complain much and doesn't play timid. I wish he would dial up the aggression sometimes but it doesn't come across as being scared, more like trying to honor the gameplan. IDK maybe I'm just reading into things that aren't there.
That has nothing to do with me. I’m not the media. Also as I said different players. If Amen and Sengun were both guards/SF that can shoot and drive then that’s a reasonable comparison. But they’re not.
Also Mazzula didn’t win anything the very next year. He needed to add 2 more stars/former stars to win (Porzingis, Jrue) which leads to my point of pieces fitting and abilities of players
What are you getting at? Tari was leading the league in 3%, still over 40%, posting a career best. Jabari is above league average, posting a career best. Josh Okogie is at .399% posting a career best. You got me complimenting Aaron Holiday over league average. The team is 7th in 3% and has been towards the top almost all season. Currently 27th in 3p made because they are dead last, 30th of 30 in attempted 3 pointers. They aren't that bad, they just refuse to shoot them for some reason.
He still ended up winning. Udoka had the exact same issues on boston: Stagnant Offense blown 4th quarter leads He had a complete team in boston. He went 7 with a banged up heat and bucks team. Ime wanted Jalen out of Houston. He got Kevin Furant. Exact same issues with regards to stagnant offense, blown 4th quarter leads. We have the worst OT record and clutch record. Those are mostly coaching. It’s a coaches job to be able to lead and motivate players and more importantly, have a different plan asides from KD ISO. If you watched the blazers game and saw the kind of plays reed and Sengun had vs a solid defense than you know what I mean.
Becuase they don’t have an NBA level coach. Poodokas defintion of offense is 37 year old Durant Iso ball.
Mazzula didn’t win with that same team. He didn’t even reach the finals. So it’s not even a discussion since it never happened. But since he lost with the same team, I believe Udoka would have won with that 23-24 Celtic team no doubt. Also you do realize Mazzula’s offense isn’t much different with heavy iso for tatum and brown don’t you?
It is far different. They have plenty of three point shooters and more importantly, they play those shooters. It would’ve been worse. He’d have been bounced by the healthy heat without a question or even if he makes the finals, Jokic would humiliate him. Also a good coach doesn’t complain about what he has. A good coach works with what he has. Santa Cruz warriors are above .500. Ime with that kind of lineup would be the first team in the nba history to win zero games in a season.
...well I mean we have the lowest netrtg, the 2nd worst offense on that list, and the worst defense(on a list with the Lakers and Hornets mind you) and play the weakest schedule of all those teams. We are definitely much closer to being a middle pack team than we are a contending one. The whole point is we are supposed to be competing for a title(because why else do you trade for KD?) with the other teams on that list and the reality is - lately we have been much closer to teams like the Warriors and Suns than teams like the Spurs and Thunder.
“plenty of 3 point shooters” isn’t playing different. They had 3 point shooters in 21-22 (udoka) as well playing 4 shooters (tatum, smart, brown, horford) and Robert williams. Mazzula only won in 23-24 because they got a stretch 5 who is a dominant paint defender in porzingis and the great Jrue Holliday replacing Smart. But they’ve always been an iso heavy team with their stars and playing 5 out ball. We don’t even have a balanced roster with no starting true point and no true 2 guard. We also have mistake prone players and 2 starters that literally can’t shoot beyond 10-12 ft. That’s the cold harsh reality
That just showed u that they had a very good stretch and could not hang onto it for their dear life...... Spoiler And yes, a lot has to do with KD still scoring strong, Amen and the emergence of Reed and what not, some sporadically good games by Alpe, Jabari, Tari, Okogie etc......but can you count on that in the Playoffs? Once Aquaman was out, there was a significant drop in Defense.....and other areas.
