If you live in Texas, you can just drive to Oklahoma or Louisiana for you casino fix.

International tourism in Orlando overall is down 9%- because of the recent political "theatre" going on.

Agree with you - especially since COVID they apparently are nickle and diming everyone to death and that just makes for a negative experience.

Vegas' demise is greatly exaggerated. I think the lower to mid end places have raised prices but the mid to high end spots have stayed relatively the same when it comes to food and drinks. The strip hasn't really changed a ton in that regard. I do think the younger generation gambles less than their predecessors outside of Sports gambling (which is available in a lot of states) so that has contributed towards it as well.

Vegas has one of the best culinary scenes in the country though along with being an adult paradise for everything else nightlife. It's always going to be unique for the latter so I don't think it's going anywhere.

Other influences that I'll say are playing into this are the Canadian tourism being down in general across the country as well. Vegas will be fine.

The MGM app has live dealers for blackjack and poker Is it like zoom where they can see you to humanize the experience, with just the dealers camera visible?

282 million dollar annual loss isn't really exaggerating though, in the case of Caesars. There are some hotels on the strip, like Resort World, that are completely empty. I'm sure Vegas will be fine, because it's corrupt as hell and people need ways to launder the mafias money :p.

I'd attribute more of that to international visitors, a lot of which have never fully returned since Covid. Asia has always been a big source of those. Resorts World is a below avg complex so I don't blame people. Regulars in Vegas are going to be loyal to their properties, I really do think though that Vegas will be fine. It may not be what it once was but I think that's the dynamics of the gambling industry in general with how younger generations typically gamble less. Sporting events will bring people in like they usually do which is a newer avenue for that town.

There is nothing special about Las Vegas for people that have been plenty of times.

I feel like I am on a very overpriced cruise ship whenever I am there. To the posters who mentioned ease of gambling in other places that is correct and I will also mention it has not changed much on the high end but since many have been priced out the lower end customer just feels ripped off and out of place

No doubt, where are the $5 craps tables? I mean - they have completely lost their way, they charge high dollar for a low dollar experience.

Nothing special about the rooms, the food, the casinos...nothing.....and you have to travel to the desert.......it is just not interesting anymore.

I think people underestimate how seriously people are reducing their tourist travel to combat catastrophic climate change

Honestly…the desert is one of the biggest draws for me. It’s beautiful outside of Vegas in the mountains.

I went to Vegas probably 5-6 times last year, and I think someone said it best as it's the low to middle class places that are suffering the most. People just don't have money, as again, everything is expensive af. Butt at least in Vegas, you can find a good deal...rooms have been noticeably cheaper the past few times I went. I use Inkind to eat, especially there to get the best deal. I still see a ton of people gambling at all the places, but taking to a pti boss on Golden Nugget (love to play blackjack there), they shut down parts of the tables on weekends, just not enough business...But the cost of flights, especially on United have gone up significantly...

Flew into Vegas on Saturday for a conference. Outside of the gates, airport was pretty empty.

Haven’t really hit the strip yet but I’ll post impressions.

I imagine the cost of fuel right now is going to hurt air travel.

You here for the HIMSS conference?

Strip seemed dead Sunday, but more crowded today. I'm seeing lots of families here on Spring break it seems.

Yep, HIMSS. Did we just become best friends?

The strip did have steady foot traffic and lots of families.
