He had one bad game. A game he had NO HELP on offense. Yeah..lets throw out the baby with the bath water off that.
The only thing I dislike about him is day 1 of free agency he signs a ton of players for 2-3 million dollars deals and 85% are cut before training camp and that eats our entire Free agency pool. Like Darby, Gardner, last year
Drafting a QB with the #2 pick and then bringing in a ROOKIE QB COACH to mentor him was the EPITOME of stupidity.
Meco wanted the defensive guys signed. anyways. you take your shots on lower FA guys, sometimes you hit on guys like Rankins/Speed/Brown/Ingram. Sometimes you miss like on the guys you [pointed out. Overall it's a good strategy IMHO.
What's done is done. I hope that Nick can draft at least TWO high quality OL for this year and the future, re-sign Ed Ingram, and then sign a couple of quality free agent OL. And we all obviously hope that CJ'S recently promoted QB coach can get CJ back to 23' form. Hopefully Tank Dell returns to form. Hopefully we catch a break and stay healthy. I think we have a good chance to win the AFC.
He actually had 4 bad games in a row to end the year and played like crap after coming back from the concussion.
One bad game? Are you serious? First off…it wasn’t just a bad game, it’s one of the worst games ever in the playoffs. And almost every other historically bad performance is an overmatched journeyman against a superior team. There are so few examples of leaders being that bad in the playoffs and then being good enough to win it all. Manning…Lebron. Neither of them were as bad as stroud. You need harden to lead the cavs to a ship this year for a comp.
Doubtful Ingram is back. CJ has said he wants Teller. How would you feel about Teller and Cade Mays in FA? It's likely these 2 guys will be Texans next yr.
Stroud's performance was an abortion, but you might as well move on because there's no point in wallowing in it. Let's hope that things go our way next season.
Ingram is back on a modest contract, they didn't overpay and he is "OK", I guess.................trying to spin this in a positive light because I really didn't want him back, but it is what it is. On a scale of 1-10, I give this a 5 on my excitement meter
I love CJ, but he had 2 consecutive playoff bombs, and he wasn't the same after the concussion. Not sure what to expect this year, but I hope for a major comeback
Mays is an upgrade. If Teller can get healthy and play like he was playing 2 years ago then he will be a big upgrade. Can he get back to where he was? Lets hope so.
I`m hoping Nick is setting all this up for his BIG REVEAL, but I am not holding my breath....................I really wanted the Bills center, but he signed over the weekend. If we roll Jake Andrews out again, were in trouble, Jake would be a great depth guy but underwhelming as a starter
In terms of extensions? That's because Caserio hasn't found many offensive players worth extending. This is categorically untrue... In '23, first three rounds, 3/4 were offense - all within first three rounds (Stroud, Scruggs, Dell) In '24, first three rounds, 1/3 was offense (Fisher) in '25, first three rounds, 3/4 were offesne (Higgins, Ersy, Noel) That's 11 draft picks among the first three rounds since '23, and 7 were offensive players. In free agency/trades, they've brought in Mixon, Diggs, now DMo... the only significant defensive free agent has been Hunter. It's certainly possible - but I'm not terribly enthusiastic.[/QUOTE]
The Steelers game wasn’t that bad, except for the fumbles snaps. Remember, he didn’t have Nico for most of that game.
