IMO Nick is part of the problem, not THE problem. He`s hit on some guys, gone up to get players they needed but also had some busts, specifically on the O Line that were horrible, but you can say that about any GM. The one thing that kills me about the Vest during his interviews, is the word salad and talking but not really saying anything with a horrible and predictable cadence in his voice, but to be fair, all GM`s do that. I DO think this "could" be a make it or break it season with him, I hope were aggressive with the O Line, but like a bunch of teams we need help on the O Line and I would like to see another RB (I am greedy).................I have never been one to want to pay a center above value just to get them or a RB that will have many suitors so whoever gets them will have to overpay BUT maybe this IS the year we do at least one and that should be someone on the O Line. Looks like Linderbaum will stay with the Ravens, especially since they now have Crosby. I like Conner Mcgovern, he doesn't get hurt and he is well above average and draft the future C in the draft The SB window is open for at least this year, do we push our chips to the middle of the table?
The one...ONE...thing I will not give Caserio grief for is his handling of the cap. He and his nerd cave seem to have a very good idea of how to work it. This draft and FA period absolutely has to be a knockout. Guess we'll find out by January.

The offense looks nothing like Ryans’ defense; it has Caserio‘s fingerprints all over it from the system to the coaches to the players. And your assertion that they spend more on defense than offense remains categorically untrue. Free agency, trades, the draft… During DeMeco’s tenure, it has favored the offensive side of the ball. And a big chunk of that is due to Caserio‘s track record being so abysmal on offense; he is constantly chasing personnel
how does this not sink it? Like a common criticism is they need to invest in the oline. They’ve spent BIG and drafted a lot of guys. Caserio just misses so much that he’s constantly needing to keep at it.
If you think CJ is the problem, then you don't know football. We ALL have seen this issue since CJ was drafted. Run game and Oline. CJ overcame much of it in his rookie year, but the league adjusted, and he couldn't and didn't grow since. Partly on him, partly on Caserio and the coaching staff. Brady wasn't Brady until age 25 (his 3rd year in the league), and his team helped him with a run game. It usually takes YEARS for QBs to master offense schemes, unless you have an older Andy Reid. You want to win? Build an O-line and have a good run game. It will amaze you how easy life can be for a QB.
While I agree with you generally on everything, I think raining threes might also be referencing the money that has been spent on defensive player's new contracts. Pitre, Sting, Anderson, Al-Shaair, Speed and Hunter just got more money or soon will. Who on the offensive side has gotten the same since DeMeco arrived, except for Nico and Schultz? If memory serves, we spend the 6th most on defense in the League and are 3rd from the bottom on offense. But that number isn't really fair either since it reflects our QB being on a cheap rookie contract.
I know you cant turn the ball over 7 times in the playoff and be successful as an offense. If you think differently you dont know football and nobody but CJ was turning the ball over in a historic pace. The rest is just a bunch of excuses. Comparing CJ to Brady? LMAO, hopefully CJ can have a Brad Johnson type of career after watching him screw the pooch for the last 2 years. But hey, everybody has their opinions.
Look who has gotten paid. There's also a big difference between the amount of 1st rd draft capital/FA money that's being spent on the defense vs the offense. I was hoping this would be changing this offseason, then the Hunter/Schultz extensions happened. Truth is Caserio missed on Green/Fisher/Scruggs because he was getting the HC's the players they wanted. Culley/Lovie/Meco and now Caley all run different offenses. This is what lead to the ol busts. I'm thinking now that Caserio/Caley/Popovich all are on the same page there will be more Ersery type picks and less Green type picks. Sad part is if CJ keeps playing scared and turning the ball over in the playoffs at a historical pace, even if the ol is improved it wont matter.
Offensively where does this situation rank ? Yes we can say elite defense but just talking offense. A meh run game 1 WR as of right now and a meh TE group that has one pass catching TE that is bad at blocking. O-line has had not kind of stability.
They've upgraded the RB room and I expect another RB to be added. Nico is really good and Higgins was really good the 2nd half of the season. Really since the Bills game. The TE room needs to be upgraded as bad as the ol room does IMHO. The Schultz extension tells me they feel differently about the TE room than I do.
That was last year team I described. Rookie pass catchers are usually not giving much production. Last year I’d say it was a below average cast. A lot of the elite QBs have much better to work with hell even Lawerence had a better unit overall.
So all CJ needs is a better O-line, better RBs, better WRs, and better TEs? That's not too much to ask for, but how many NFL teams actually have all this?
