You are getting pretty aloof in your old age, but I get not wanting to discuss the same things over and over. I took some time off, because of it. I’ll watch tonight and if it’s more of the same which I expect, I’ll take some more time off. I know it’s useless to complain about Ime, but I just can’t help myself sometimes.
He would have been obessed coming into the season. His like first 25 games of the season was pretty then we know what happened after that...
Are you a fortune teller? Give us next week's lottery results too, so we can win a little money then.
Where are you getting this 3rd most double teamed info? Not even close according to Statmuse and according to the eye test
Sorry this was bad wording on my part - let me elaborate: the idea after the trade was KD will open up the game a ton for Alpi w his gravity, but I think we overestimated the effect he would have cause Udoka insists on using Amen the way we are and KD not being a high volume guy on top also makes it easier to load on Sengun than we thought. There’s nothing KD negatively impacts spacing-wise lol goes without saying.
Sengun is a high gravity guy. We actually have two high gravity guys in Sengun and Durant. If you put Reed in, that's 3 of them. You've got to be able to utilize that to create good offense. That PnR between Reed and Sengun was a good example. Sengun's man was so worried about Reed he left Alpi an open lane to the basket. It's like what Barkley said at that time. "They're gonna double Dream. They're gonna double me. And they're gonna double Clyde. That's 6 guys."
Sengun better come up big in the 1st round or he's gonna be this years CJ Stroud. Fans are gonna turn on him hard if he continues to be inconsistent
I don't think consistency is his problem. Or I guess it is if you just look at all his games as being equal, but I don't think you should, it's not random inconsistency. I think he is consistently very very good against horrible defenders and tanking teams, he's pretty reliable if the other team doesn't have a guy who can guard him. And on the flip side of that, you can count on him being bad if the other team has a strong defender (or scheme) that is capable of guarding him. Detroit, Boston, and Golden State come to mind. I remember last year after the playoffs I looked at his numbers with Draymond on the bench vs Draymond on the court for the entire series and he went from 25/10/7 on 60% shooting down to 18/7/4 on 40% shooting or something crazy like that. I don't remember the exact numbers but you get the idea.
It's about specific types of defensive players/defenses. He actually tends to play well against lightweight guys like Wemby and Chet, even though they're generally considered great defensive players. He struggles against tough, physical centers, and against defenses that can swarm him without giving up too much elsewhere.
Yup. There are guys Sengun beats and then there’s guys he loses to, and it’s pretty deterministic. This is pretty much true for lots of paint creation bigs. Because their offense is predicated on beating their man and creating an easy shot at the rim with size/quickness/handle, there’s less variance against any specific defender, because you either have the advantage or you don’t. Make or miss variance is less of a factor. Which is why the coaching is frustrating sometimes, like against GSW. Horford and Draymond are two of the best post defenders of the last 30 years. 1v1’ing them is literally always an L for the offense.
It really is a coaching issue. It's super easy to give Sengun the mismatch, we've literally got KD and Jabari as decent wing shooters. Off-ball screen for either, if the shot isn't there, you dump it in to Alpi in the post who now has a SF guarding him who can't stand up to his twerk so he scores. Even better, do it with Reed and you'll get him against a PG who has no chance. Sadly we don't do the basics of basketball.
I agree that he doesn’t look right. I told someone the other night “I hope he’s still injured, otherwise this dude seems like the odd man out right now”.
There are airballs and airballs, but the free throw airball last night looked as if something is heavily going on in his head
Call me an ******* but let’s get rid of both our problems this summer for best shooter all time. Picks can be worked out Maybe Curry wants a chance to win and Warriors want a all star in return before Curry retires Reed Curry / FA / Amen KD / Tari Amen / Jabari / DFS Jabari / Capella / Adams Trade DFS for Ty Jerome off the bench somehow and call it a day
