Based on his behavior, this likely indicates his administration has been approaching Iran looking for an end, and got rejected. If you are truly dealing with a death cult, they are going down with you. Good thing they are probably more rational than you think. I actually can't find a single instance of a direct hit on an F15 or F16 by an enemy being acknowledged. I'm aware it has happened but I was actually just curious about whether this is a policy.

I don't know much, but I do know this: war is messy and anyone thinking they know the reactions and outcome is foolish. I also know that their "pope," not part of any deal, self-imposed a limit on their ballistic missiles to 2,000 kilometers, apparently to not alarm European nations and because that range was enough to cover the Middle East including American bases there. That limit was reportedly removed after the war with Israel last year that ended with the U.S. bombing them. Military aggression tends to lead to more military aggression, and before you know it, boom everywhere.

But anyone who thinks one side is a "death cult" that will "go down dying" is also implicitly supporting their eradication, because that framing leaves nothing left to negotiate.
