I was actually FUMING after the game, and part of it was the Warriors, part was that the game really did feel like a true breakout moment for Reed, and we pissed it away.
Reed was our best player last night in a tight game. Playing him from the middle of the 3rd through the end of regulation was trying to win the game, not sabotage. He was 10/13 heading into the 4th. Benching someone that hot would be sabotage. Reed is only 21 years old. He's got the young fresh legs, he can handle playing ten minutes in the 4th after playing less than half of the third, with the break in between quarters. He didn't even play 17 straight minutes, he was subbed out in the last minute of the 3rd. Can we let him cook when he's on fire or not?
Ime is awful at bench coaching. He is just guessing. Reed was awesome on offense and putrid on defense. A good coach would figure out the rotation to take advantage of his offensive production and hire his poor defensive game. If Ime would’ve pulled him for defense from about mid fourth quarter and OT, he would’ve been fried by the fans, but we probably pull it out. We all knew what was going to happen, Kerr knew it, the players knew it and anyone that has watched the Rockets this year knew it. We are absolutely f*cked with this roster, with this coach. Unfortunately, it will take an extreme flame out next year for Tito to pull the plug on this mess. I hope they don’t throw away our future by giving up major assets for Giannis and keep Ime. We will not win a chip with this man, regardless of roster.
You are upset about Reed playing 17 straight minutes. 1) He didn't and 2) If you want him to rest he'd have to sub out and go to the bench for a bit. At what point of the game do you think he should have rested and how long? I think that Reed needs more minutes. I do not think that playing him 16 total 2nd half minutes is Ime trying to sabotage him. I think him playing 10 minutes in the 4th is a good sign going forward.
I do believe Reed has conditioning issues that can’t be addressed until the offseason and they tend to show up as him reaching on defense more and leaving shots short.
I’m just going to be hiding in my cozy corner and enjoying my Reed fan club membership going forward.

I'm all in now. Second season like Jalen (Alpi's the only draft pick I bought his jersey in the first season tbh) and Amen, but yeah I'm there now. Ime needs to get out of his way and let him cook. The more he grows in the role the better we'll be.
