Well they openly admitted they are trying to incite civil war (which is basically literal terrorism) so stabilizing the area was never a priority.

Neocons are just so ****ing dumb

Tactically I can buy both statements

The weapons math - drones /missiles to interceptors favors Iran

The US has the ability to destroy Irans launchers rendering that previous statement moot

However, this only applies to one state in time . Does Iran have the capability to rebuild its launching infrastructure? Can the US and Israel destroy it completely enough beforehand that there is no Iranian government to launch the missiles ?

Trump is a degenerate gambler , but he's been right /lucky more times than he's been wrong .

The credibility of the United States to build alliances is not his problem. If the gulf states that he's been cozying up to feel betrayed , then that's a problem for the future.

I do worry that Trump and the people that pushed this forward did so more on vibes than intelligence and proper risk assesment.

Also , again , EVEN IF we totally smash iran , <10 casualties .... this action along with venezuala sets such a precedent that it it going to be a major problem

They can't afford it on their already $1 trillion dollar annual budget?

Is there something special about Israel that I fundamentally am missing? Even if you say it’s Jewish lobbying via AIPAC, it’s not that much money in the grand scheme.

In other words, the if inflation rises it's on him. He says it's worth it because Israel is safe. I'm sure none of this will spur terrorism attacks for either of our countries in the future.

@Space Ghost promised it isn't a war, hes going to be happy paying for this. "butter salt noodles" is a good dinner he tells me

The expenditures on this little frenzy have topped 400 billion dollars already

It's insane. Now we're taking defense systems in southeast Asia to help protect Israel. We've wasted more missles interceptors in the past 5 days in Iran than what we've manufactured in the same time. You can kiss Taiwan goodbye as we won't be anywhere ready to defend them.

We traded in Taiwan for Israel which is insane. ND the MAGAs @Tomstro @ashleyem think this is about countering China. They're so brainwashed

    yup

but whenever Mamdani wants to do something, that’s all republicans can ask

or if a Dem proposes universal healthcare/universal childcare or free school lunches for kids…that’s when we have to wonder how we’ll pay for it

but when it comes to the budget for ICE or anything war related, money is no object

I'm not even being snarky. I am honestly open to being persuaded.

I can disagree with something and still sleep at night if I understand the thought process, or at the very least I'm not lied to, but none of this **** adds up.

If Iran and Venezuela is about energy markets and controlling China... Fine... but just say it.

This is what I've been thinking is going on for a hot minute.

Iran and Venezuela are liabilities for us in many ways. Not the least of which is empowering our rivals.

Invading Iran is the equivalent to handing Taiwan to China on a silver platter. It's the opposite if controlling China
