After Trump promised he'd block any potential merger from Netflix they quietly backed out allowing Paramount to finish the merger.

I always wondered what the band name "Godspeed You Black Emperor" really meant, and now I think I'm starting to figure it out.

Pretty serious late stage croney capitalism vibes to this deal. Disgusting.

When the revolution comes, I'm about ready to hop on the bandwagon.

Eat the rich. Madame la Guillotine is thirsty.

one of the smartest move NFLX has made,

[IMG], saving itself from spending $2 B to Warner in break-up fee.

the 2 B will be better spend on organic growth, such as another live event sporting event

post its announcement to end the bidding for Warner, NFLX stock price has risen from 75 to 98, 30% increase in ~~ a week

    ==========================================================================================

meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, to finance the purchase of Warner,Paramount debt

Netflix is playing the LONG game. They are betting they will be able to pick up the assets they want at a discount after the debt forces PSKY to sell off assets.

Netflix might just get a deal when Paramount goes bankrupt.

Sorry, I missed this earlier: There's not enough zingzams and pewpews to keep a Marvel Kid like him interested.

I'm super busy non-business hours. My video media consumption is pretty limited these days, so I try quality over quantity. I don't personally consume TV via terrestrial cable companies and by sitting on the couch channel surfing like a lot of you still do. Not a knock on it, I just don't have time, especially for commercials.

Comedy Central doesn't have anything that interests me, or at least, nothing I've heard about. And HBO is mostly garbage since the Discovery merger. If there are single shows or movies on those platforms I want to watch, there are other avenues I can use to consume them.

As for the Marvel jab...I will admit that I've fallen pretty far of the bandwagon in the last couple of years. I haven't watched the last two movies or the last couple of shows. I just don't have time and value sleep more.

NFLX and WBD are clear winners here,

    Ellisons' Fortunes At Stake
“Daddy Larry looks like a chump for handing over all to his trust fund baby, David” noted tech columnist Kara Swisher

“Paramount is a subpar purchaser of Warner” and, under trust fund baby, David Ellison, would “run the new entity into a wall,”
she said, adding that Hollywood would see unprecedented layoffs and consolidation.

Trump Bought Netflix Debt Amid Paramount’s Fight for Warner Bros.

Paramount may have won the battle for Warner Bros. Discovery, but President Trump continues to bet on the financial stability of Netflix.

As Paramount sought to pry Warner Bros. away from the streaming giant, Trump was adding more Netflix bonds to his personal portfolio, financial disclosures released by the White House on Wednesday show.

The disclosures show that President Trump bought between $600,000 and $1.25 million worth of Netflix debt in January, adding to the $500,000 to $1 million in Netflix bonds that he purchased in December, shortly after Netflix’s megadeal for Warners was announced.
