This isn't apples to apples but the difference between these two that essentially play the same position is palpable. KD is only #2 in one on one shotmaking and JG is no longer the worst in the league in shotmaking, but he's still an F this year and last. Of course we lost Dillon too and i'm sure his numbers look much better. But damn. 1st vs worst.

I don’t think Rockets fans (especially this board) appreciates what we have in KD. He’s the most efficient bucket getter Houston has ever had and I think it’s because scoring comes so easy to him.

I don’t think people remember just how frustrating Jalen was for us last year.

KD actually loves it here and wants to end his career as a Rocket. He’s not on a bargain contract but it’s not an awful one either. I’m glad he chose us. I think Houston will continue to grow, gain experience, and will get better. With all of Houston’s issues, we are still one of the top teams and there’s hope.

This board would have you believe that the house is on fire and we should blow it all up. There’s over 20 teams in the league that would love to have our record. KD on our team always gives us a chance.

Okay but in a few years when KD is 40 Jalen will get him pregnant

picking him over Mobley was the most obvious mistake ever. Everyone in the world except half this forum and Stone saw it a mile away.

not losing sleep over evan mobley. Dude has not improved at all since his rookie year, he is the same exact player as he was when he came into the league, and he is getting paid $60M in a few years.

He's a monster. One of the best to ever do it, and somehow still almost as good as he was in his prime.

We should still trade him before he gets hurt... if he even makes it to the end of the season the way Ime is playing him.

I haven't watched KD on a game-by-game basis since he was at UT, only catching an occasional game or highlights.

His shooting is exactly what I expected from him, maybe even a little better. He's gifted at creating just enough space out of nothing to get off a shot.

However, I'm genuinely shocked at how sloppy his handle and passing are at times. Has he always been like this, and the shooting was amazing enough to offset it? Or is this something that's gotten more prevalent in recent years?

KD's never been a great ballhandler. Even in his OKC days where he was making all-NBA 1st team every year and going to the finals, he had three seasons in a row with an A:TO ratio of below 1. OKC lost to GS his last game there with some similar 4th quarter turnovers. His assist and turnover numbers this season are exactly his career averages.

Our offense isn't making things easier for him. In GS he had tons of space to operate in the mid post and had the lowest turnovers of his career. Here he doesn't have that kind of space and we often expect him to create something from beyond the three point line. He can't just start in his preferred midrange all the time. That doesn't take away from what he does well. All the greats still have weaknesses. Steph Curry is pretty turnover prone himself, some really dumb ones even, and no one would confuse him with Haliburton.

Jury is still out. If we get a ring or two out of Durant, I would say it worked out.

JG was a miss, JSJ was a lesser miss (compared to Paolo & Chet though
Regular season probably feels like exhibition for a vet who has done it all. His TOV rate will be lower in playoffs and has been in recent seasons

Looking at all-time leaders in turnovers it's pretty funny that Durant, Harden, and Westbrook will all end up top 6 ever. Westbrook 2, Harden 3, and Durant 6.

Either way, we didnt have the option of Paulo [or Chet].
Williams and Duren are the arguments you can have against JSJ. Both are better, but neither was "known" enough to be picked 3rd at the time...

Sadly, I don’t think it will matter much. This team looks like a strong first round exit.

    No it does not

Rockets will probably play the Lakers or Suns and Rockets are the better team

    Minnesota is a toss up.

A strong first round exit is just casual talk

With Ime as head coach we'll be lucky to get into second round. This man needs 8 games to make an adjustment. Each series is only 7 games lol

Exactly. Go on any public Cavs forum and their fans are tired of dude and want to move him.

OK now this is just silly. Dude is 24 and coming off of an extremely efficient 19, 9, and 2 (bpg) year where he won DPOY (not that I put too much stock into those awards). I can understand being disappointed with his slight regression this year, but any Cavs fans who are done with him are just as crazy as the Rockets fans talking about getting rid of Sengun, Durant, or Ime.

... Although there's maaaybe an argument to drop him if he wants a supermax.
