In truth, a WHOLE LOT of you have been hypocritical as HELL with Reed in deserving minutes As in, you sh**ted ALL over Jalen Green & Jabari as getting automatic "entitled" minutes, that they should have been "earning " their way to their role. But Sheppard was supposed to be given 46 minutes a night at the very first second he was a Rocket, for "long development" to "work out all the kinks with GAME MINUTES!" Over a former champ and once All Star point guard But that's literally the same exact approach that Jalen and Jabari were assigned to do lol. People are "Linsanity lite" for Reed to play for his "likeable fun factor" appeal and don't care what else is happening on the team
big YoY improvement for Reed. close to maxed out in a few places. plenty of room for growth in others
wait...what?!? I'm so lost with this post. Literally nobody has been asking for him to play the whole game, 40 minutes...etc. People want (what the stats relay as) the 2nd/3rd most impactful player, 1A/1B shooter to get more burn on the most offensively and shooting deprived team (likely in history). He makes the team better and is desperately needed to address this team's glaring and biggest deficiency. You just can't afford not to play him given the situation
Reed sheppard in year two is already a better player than jalen green in 5 years. Dude makes winning his plays and his offensive process has far superior to Jalen’s. Drafting him was a steal.
On 3/10/1987, Dream had a 5x5 game that went 38 pts/17 rbs/6 assists/7 steals/12 blocks. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that exceeds Reed's 19/7/10/6/2. So, fake tweet. Should have included Dream on the list.
6 assists <10 assists. Overall Dreams statline is obviously more impressive but that‘s the thing that keeps him from the list.
Except the tweet doesn't focus on the 10 assists. It just mentions the stat line, which Dream exceeded. So, fake tweet or badly worded tweet, it's still a horrible tweet.
Well that's a Strawman argument. No one said Reed should even have been getting 20 mins a night, just that he should have been played more consistently throughout the year. Jalen as a rookie started every game he was healthy for (67) and averaged 32 mins. That's understandable on a tanking team and really I don't recall the massive outcry about Jalen playing too much. I mean, who did people want to play over him at the time? We didn't have anyone and everyone knew we were tanking anyways. Completely different situations and not even an accurate representation, so I don't get the comparison.
Dude, what are you talking about? That tweet is clearly referencing games in which a player met or exceeded each of Sheppard’s numbers in points, assists, rebounds, etc. The Dream game you mentioned did not. This seriously is not a difficult concept.
We need to fire Udoka and hire Mike Malone. He can turn Sengun and Reed into another version of Jokic and Murray. Udoka just doesn’t want Reed to either succeed or play heavy minutes for him to blossom. It’s disgusting.
Jabari and Green were given over 30 minutes every game immediately, regardless of how they played (extremely poorly). Reed barely saw the floor at all, often didn't his rookie season. If he made any mistakes he got the deepest spot on the bench almost immediately. Reed is 140 games into his NBA career now, and he still isn't getting what they got immediately despite having an objectively positive impact on the team that they did not. He's already earned his time this season. Its being intentionally stupid to suggest its the same. Reed isn't a rookie, and he isn't playing poorly. These aren't charity minutes.
has been the case literally all season. I don't understand what you need to see from him to not want to start him. He had 8 Stocks last night. What has Tari Eason done that makes him immovable from the lineup? Reed has legitimately won multiple games this season for the team. Why wouldn't you want that from the jump?
Has anybody ever dished a 3pt assist to both Amen and DFS in the same game? That's an impressive feat!
One aspect that I, personally, did not give enough weight to in the Amen v. Sheppard discussion is how much Reed opens up the PnR game. With Amen, defenders will often go under the screen, mitigating its effectiveness. That’s way riskier with Sheppard.
Somehow nobody seems to notice how much Amen’s form and results has improved on his 12-15 foot jumper. He is taking it more frequently and with more confidence. The announcers mentioned the coaches were working on that specifically over the last week. Amen hits that on a regular basis he will be much better in the PnR. It is a testament to how this guy works on his game. People thinking he will never develop a shot are missing the boat.
