Miami is the least team to overreact against, honestly. They are the classic Rockets & Sengun "kryptonite"' his entire career. Sengun has his career worst numbers vs Miami. Rockets are 1-9 vs Miami since 2021. Bam is 5 time All Defensive team, 3 time All Star himself. He's very good, not a bum Reed and Tari were 9/26 shooting. Tyler Herro was 8/12 FG himself. Yes Sengun is the All Star who's supposed to produce, but he has to overcome 2 crappy starters and crappy bench by himself? More concerned with Sengun vs other teams than this
It’s silly and DD knows it. He’s just having fun. We will ride it out with this team and this coach at least through next year. FVV is Ime’s answer and everybody will be saying I told you so as we march to another 2 or 3 seed. FVV will play good in 3 out of 7 playoff games and some other smuck will have a bad playoff series and get the blame. Half the board will blame Ime and half the board Stone and wash and repeat until Ime’s contract runs out.
It’s fair to expect better than losing to a low-tier Eastern team that probably wouldn’t make the playoffs in the West. One loss like this isn’t the world but as we’re seeing, our team isn’t consistent and that’s on coaching.
He plays a crazy amount of minutes for the 6th best team in the league, so by default he will have a good plus-minus. But he is a role player. If Durant or Sengun had to miss a significant amount of time, our record would plummet and so would his plus-minus.
Alpi won't be a sixth man. Ime is not getting fired (at least not for another two years). Stone isn't getting fired (at least not for another two years). Fred won't come off the bench next year. These are truths and need to be accepted. I can understand the thought exercise of any of these things happening. But I think it's wasted energy to dream about things that have no chance of happening.
Actually agree on this but it’ll never happen with Alpis contract. Should be noted that Okogie is our best perimeter defender by miles & didn’t see the floor vs Miami
If KD gets hurt in similar fashion as T-Mac did in his 2nd year don't be surprised. Hell... KD is older than the T-Mac we got back then. Can't waste that first year you get a superstar caliber player. Also, dont be surprised if FVV is not the same player as he once was and he gets picked on by opposing teams worse than Reed when he comes back next year. Rockets can sit on their hands as long as they choose to but they need to choose wisely. Spurs are skipping the bs excuse process the Rockets think they have to go through.
This is pretty ridiculous. Youre using Field goal makes and attempts in 2026 instead of something that actually shows efficiency? First Im sure you know that Reed and Tari shoot threes so their fg attempts and makes shouldnt be the same as a center shooting mostly in the paint. Reed was third on the team with a TS% of 50. Reed was third on the team in offensive rating. Sengun and reed were virtually tied as equally bad defenders this game, but Sengun ts was only 43. He waa 3rd last with an offensive rating of 97 and only ahead of Dorian Finney Smith with a -25 Net rating. Overall, Reed wasnt bad this game. In fact, of the starters the only player better was KD. Reed and Tari both had more assist than Sengun and Tari had more rebounds. And as bad as Tari was, he was still better than Sengun overall. Sengun wasnt just by far the worst starter, if DFS doesnt exist he wouldve been the worst player by a pretty good margin. Thats not what happened, but ummm...yes...when youre in the role of "star" and a bulk of the offense goes through you that is EXACTLY what youre supposed to do. Youre supposed to make your teammates better and make things easier for them--not the other way around. You should be the guy that is counted on most nights to produce. Sengun didnt do his part and he certainly didnt make things easier for anyone yesterday. He hasnt been that guy for a while now and its getting worse. He was bad in every area yesterday. He needs bounce back and start to be a catalyst for winning games and not needing Tari and Reed type guys to go nuclear for this team to beat teams like Miami.
So basically any average center locks up Alperen. Can you till me one good team has had an efficient game against? Barring the OKC season opener
