He just got released by the Mavs. Can we go after him or are we still restricted? Is he an upgrade over Holiday? Seems more of a pure point.
He was released, in part, because he's shooting the 3 at 28% this season. I don't know that he helps the Rockets in any way unless he has a miraculous return to who he was 3 or 4 years ago.
If Amen broke both his thumbs and was physically incapable of holding a basketball, Ime would still prefer him as a PG over Tyus Jones.
Probably our best buy-out option on the market. Not shooting the 3 well this year but he's normally in the mid-upper 30s. Maybe he can turn it around with the open looks he's going to get from there.
Yeah, Tyus can't even hit an open three anymore. I don't know what happened to him, but he looks like a guy who's about to go play in Europe or China.
Yeah. Don't know what happened to him. I used to like him when he was in Memphis. His shooting has totally lost since he went to Orlando.
There is probably 3-5 minutes of total game time where it would be handy to have Jones. Those minutes being the ones where we struggle to get the ball into our offence and turn it over a lot. Unfortunately those minutes don't happen all in a row... If he could still shoot, different story.
Rockets should just play Holiday and JD more. The Rockets have own options on roster and don't use them
I don't think a 29 year old player without any major injuries can be considered "cooked". Though I do think he's a career backup who at times has been miscast as a starter. I also think that not all players are right for all teams, and that Tyus could still be a decent backup for some team. But I also believe that we won't be that team per my original post.
