Russia gets its drones from Iran. you support the Iranian regime, ergo you support the drone infrastructure that Russia uses to kill Ukrainians.

 

Both times the US invaded Iraq in the first days I recall Iraqis coming up to US military and kissing their feet.

I’ve used this analogy before too but if China decided to take out Trump there would be people here in the US that would be happy about it and maybe even praising China for taking out someone that is a direct threat to their lives. That doesn’t mean that China would be right to attack a US president and a sovereign country.

People on the right haven’t changed at all. They are so well programmed to just react in a “bad guys… bomb… good” without ever having two seconds of critical thinking about foreign relations, the rest for the rule of law domestic and international, and the ramifications of actions longterm.

MAGA is still the party of Merica! Still a lot of people in this country who are suckers and sheep who will continue to lead this country off a cliff with constant muscle memory reaction to cake their pants at the idea of bombing Muslims in the Middle East.

Making any judgements based on videos of Iranians celebrating anything on day 1 is incredibly foolish.

Nothing has changed. They’ve only just gotten more brazen in their lies.

 

This is dumb. Of course you don’t know history. You know who the Iranians hate more than the ayatollah? The Shah. There is no local, pro Shah, resistance.

Funny enough, the last two major U.S. wars, Afghanistan and Iraq, were started under George W. Bush. The one before that, Desert Storm, under George H.W. Bush. Not exactly your "woke libs."

I think we probably agree on this one. Nobody wants another long U.S. war. Trump ran on ending these conflicts and not starting new ones, and that message resonated across the board. This isn’t about libs versus the conservative base. It’s about what happens once they have power.

Republican presidents have ignored their own anti-war base and started major wars anyway, three for three. Historically, once these war starts, the base falls in line and supports it. Hopefully that doesn’t happen this time, but I’m not holding my breath.

We should all be pissed if this extends into yet another major U.S. war. How do you not put the blame squarely on the president and Congress that actually started it?

P.s. I don't blame H.W. Bush - that one was a defense against aggression with clear achievable goals and ended once the goals were reached.

Not disagreeing about Israeli political influence on U.S. politicians, but there is something very important to point out. Israel didn’t get us into the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. Israel has already gotten us into major military conflict with Iran twice under the current administration.

“Trump has declared war on Iran without exhausting nonviolent alternatives, without a long-term plan, and without any legal authorization,” said Rep. With war so much easier to get into than to get out of, every member of Congress can vote this week to restrain Trump by adopting a bipartisan war powers resolution.

The fall of Saddam Hussein’s statue in Baghdad was the beginning, not the end of chaos in Iraq that led to 4,000 American deaths and cost $2 trillion. Iran is almost 4 times larger than Iraq with a much stronger military. Iran also has much greater capability for deadly retaliation. Ignoring the lessons from Bush’s war, this unprovoked US/Israeli attack endangers us all. Trump again sends a message to other authoritarians Putin and Xi that war is a tool for the powerful to use whenever they choose”
