30+ plus million for 2 more years (he’s opting in most likely). Gotta credit stone for getting out of that before it became a serious issue.
It’s just weird to have a guy whose very best games can make him look like a star, while more than half of his other games make him look like he should be coming off the bench.
The KD Experiment looks more like The J.Green Dodge now. Ring or not, rather have KD and a chance than Brooks/J.Green
It's always this. No matter how you think about Durant. Jalen for KD is a no brainer. A lot of people now believe that the real cost of getting KD was Dillon Brooks.
Oh, he’s is that bad. And he’s really going to have to get going to meet my (optimistic) projection of homeless man’s Jordan Clarkson.
Nah, for Phoenix it was getting anything, they realized KD does not fit any longer and is old and that is fine...... The thing is getting a king's ransom for him which they did not, it was to be fair a minor lordling's ransom.
I can’t remember an NBA team, maybe going back to the Bad Boys Pistons, that deserved a roster-wide asskicking like this OKC team. Just absolutely punchable, 1-10 on that roster. McCain is just gravy (literally and figuratively). I know it’s a different time, but the league used to have some enforcers that would have “taken care” of Lu Dort for instance and he might’ve nursed a dislocated shoulder or worn a face mask for 6-8 weeks after that stunt last night. And can someone please tell me why they don’t DESTROY SGA on a pick?
You are too fixated on players, players come and go......at the end of the day after 1 or 2 decades, you only remember how much the team has won. You can be assured that the OKC fanbase has been whining about Dort a lot and wanted him gone......but yeah he is respected by the players......and his contract is up...../rant.
Yeah tbh I genuinely do view that trade as "#10 pick and Dillon Brooks as reward for taking on Jalen's bad contract and getting out from their KD drama."
Lu Dort is present day Bruce Bowen. Every dirty. One of my most hated players, second only to Draymond.
Haha, good one, still wanted to make it more competitive in a Jalen Green, non winner thread. My bad entirely ......competitiveness got nothing to do with Jalen Green.
Thats any NBA player who is given a green light like that and not on a short leash. He was the #2 pick and marketed well, they fooled a lot of people, and they were in denial for a while. I was hopeful as well because I had to watch a full year of tanking to get him. Imagine if they gave JR Smith a full green light in his early 20's and let him start, he would have looked even better than Jalen. In fact he started 77 games on a Championship team, so who knows what could have been if they treated him like Jalen to begin with. There are a lot of guys if given the opportunity they would be great 20% of the time, there is likely a super star that is in the league that we will never know about due to lack of opportunity. We have seen guys like Jalen Brunson level up when given the opportunity.. The issue w JG is that his lows are pretty bad, and they can go on for a while. I think it was Charles Barkley that said it would be better if he just consistently scored 12-15 ppg on good efficiency, someone like that would go on to play a solid bench role, JR Smith as low IQ as he was early in his career, he ended up playing 16 seasons in the NBA. Javale MacGee ended up doing the same, and was the GOAT of Shaqtin a fool for years. JG needs to figure out how to be reliable at a smaller scale to survive in the NBA, otherwise I can see him not even being in the league in 5 years.
Kinda feel bad for Jalen. I almost wonder if his mom is one of "those" parents. Like the ones you see in Hollywood letting their kids go to adult parties at like...14 and stuff. Not sure what his next contract will look like but cant imagine it'll be more than 2 years at this rate. Will be broke before the age of 35.
