    Tate and Holiday then?

You get what I mean I.e. is Dalen Terry anything more than an expiring contract?

That was my original point, Terry was an expiring contract (Singular - One Roster Spot) who was immediately waived.
    Cash considerations were also involved.

That's (Terry) a much better "asset" in this trade than the Rockets offering DFS and his bloated deal. They weren't getting Alvarado (or Ayo / White) for DFS and a 2nd. Not when teams can send out expiring contracts who are immediately cut or rerouted for another asset.

I'm not sure they were in that conversation to begin with - reports were that teams wanted Tari who was not available.

As for the Tate / Holiday issue, who knows if they were even made available. I know Tate is under appreciated on this forum by most. He's no star but he's a useful player.
Then there's the question of roster spots - for every player you take in via trade, you need a roster spot for - that could be a complicating factor, having to waive someone to create a roster spot and that guy being on a guaranteed contract, the lost $2.3m cap (minimum) space could be an issue.

Right but I think we would probably agree that the difference between an expiring and a waivable contract is so minor that we could easily cover that with the pick quality.

I don't think this is a reasonable excuse to not acquire a PG.

Unless they believe Fred is practically a franchise player. This is the real culprit that complicates a deal. If you think you're missing a franchise player then you're not blowing multiple FRP's to acquire another one at the same position. If you think that, I understand why you might have the deluded thought that a player worth one FRP won't make a ripple.

I feel like you're cutting them soooooooooooooo much slack. The Pelicans would have traded him to us for an extra second rounder imo. It's just business.

I am convinced that different coaching styles would make the players play differently. We have all time collegiate shooters on our team.

The whole one on one is not what is needed. If we ran sets that put players in their sweet spots with open looks, our conversion would be different. Silas would do wonders with this team over what we have now.

If the Knicks, or Pistons are a contender, then the Rockets can hit that level with this roster.
I don't see matching Denver, San Antonio, or OKC with this roster.
We have seen what happens when they simply hit shots. Then they are elite. They have players who can do that.

Spurs lucked into Wemby, and Harper. So not sure they are all that good. But Stone… he has missed on every lottery pick he has had.

amen is fine, but he’ll never be a the best player on a championship team. Right now he is proving he can’t even be the 3rd best player. But also him and Sengun are terrible fits with each other

lol sometimes the best move is to make no move at all. You don't need to trade just to make a trade

I might have agreed with those rankings a while ago, but lately? I'm not seeing it...

Sure, it depends what we do in the offseason. But 2 injury guy who makes up close to 40 million is also not a very good look.

Never saw it with Stone, hated his arrogant style since day one and the Silas pick. He has had so many totally wasted first round picks. Also, Olandipo trade was stupid and in two years when Durant retires we’re going to wish we had our lottery pick and 24 year old Jalen Green. Awful lawyer acting like a basketball guru. Thiscyear we should’ve had a top 3 pick to look forward to, but the moron gave away our Nets pick inexplicably. How does this guy still have a job???
