Please Lord do NOT let Trammel sustain this level of production throughout spring training.

Personally, I find it very difficult to root against an Astros' player, regardless of who it is.

I, and I mean this in the nicest possible way, cannot figure out why Trammel is even in the consideration for anything.

    Gotta slopball it:

    sinker, curve, changeup

He really needs to hang out with and learn from Greinke.

He should go spend a lost weekend dropping acid with Charlie Hough and see if he can throw a knuckle.

Don't need acid to throw a knuckle-curve, but I'm not sure why you'd want to.

3-Pitch LMJ, and he has a wrinkle off of every one.

I was just saying who cares if somebody is out the first few games/weeks. It's a long season, miss the first month and not the last

From what I hear he is one of the nicest guys in the league.
I just don't want him blocking one of the kids that need playing time.
We already know who he is.
And if he is an everyday player we are in trouble

I wouldn’t say we for sure already know who Trammell is. He’s never gotten 200+ pa in a single MLB season and what little playing time he’s gotten has come sporadically. He’s hit in AAA in larger samples. He has bat speed, barrels balls, and doesn’t chase bad pitches, so he walks and hits for power. He has whiffed a lot and that’s probably not going to get fixed. But he could easily be a 2 win CF who hits 20 HR and plays solid defense but strikes out a lot.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to ever write off a player who has never really gotten a full look in the majors.

I completely agree. He's had about one seasons worth of at bats over 4 years. He's hit really well in the minors and he's relatively young. I'm not saying I'm as optimistic about him as Cole or Cam, but I'm not writing him off.

The main issue with this is his command sucks. Guys like Greinke survived because they actually knew where the ball was going when they threw it.

Lance's biggest issue last year is he couldn't throw strikes often enough to get batters to chase his breaking balls. If he can get his command right, I think he could be effective enough to be a reliever.
