Is this why beef is so expensive?

    Beef seems simply expensive to raise. They eat 20 to 40 pounds of feed daily

    Do you ever see how much prize winning steers are auctioned for at the Houston rodeo?

    My parents raised Black Angus in Woodville. They generally don't give the cows much in the way of grains unit it was time to fatten them for auction or the butcher.

    As far as the livestock show goes. Those are rich companies buying the stock after an open bar.
    Best finishes for a show cow are
    Champion
    Reserve champion
    And the last cow for auction.
    Folks were sent to party and purchase a cow.
    Last cow is the last chance.
