New rule: 3 pts is the new 7 pts (but only for teams that play in Texas that start with an H)

Also, if your offense has 5+ tries inside the 10 yard line, automatic TD (or see new rule if you kick a FG)

Could have drafted him instead of mega bust Kenyon Green. But he had “short arms” and Nick can’t draft OL to save his life.

Put Collins and Evans outside and Higgins in the slot and those are elite weapons. I would rather they spend money on the ol and TE positions though.

He drafted a pretty good OT last year.

This is changing with Popovich running the ol.

If they trade Pickens signing Evans makes sense. Otherwise the Cowboys have the best WR group in the NFL.

    They were lucky?

They lost Ward, Stewart at the S position.

Who gives a crap what CJ wants. He wanted more freedom in the offense last year and we saw how that turned out.

Random thought, I wouldn't mind if we signed Vonn Miller to play 15-20 snaps and game. He's not what he used to be but he can still come off the edge and disrupt the qb. Could be a great locker room guy and mentors young players. Even in the twilight of his career i think he'd be a great addition, sure if hes on the Texans radar just a random thought, its not like I can talk to my wife about off-season Texans possible free agent acquisitions lol

I'm sure he would help, but of the potential issues facing the 2026 Texans, pass rush is about as low as it can get. Basically every other team in the NFL could use him more than us and therefore would pay him more.

Lol, CJ obviously! As much as some of us are done after the his historic meltdown in the playoffs, I'd be surprised if our management moves on from him this year. So improving the offense in general has to be Caserio's focus in FA and Draft.

Ironically, with this year's week QB class and FA QBs not being very exciting (https://www.si.com/nfl/free-agency/2026-five-best-quarterbacks-availablehttps://www.si.com/nfl/free-agency/2026-five-best-quarterbacks-available) this may be a very good market environment to extract value out of Stroud on the trade market.

We either need someone that is desperate for a QB like Jets, Cards, Browns, Dolphins or Steelers or a team like the Rams or Vikes that have QB guru coaches that believe they can rehabilitate him.

Of those candidates, I don't see NY being a good fit for his fragile ego, I doubt the Browns want anything to do with any other Texan QBs, and I'm confident that Slowik doesn't want anything to do with Stroud in MIA. That leaves us with...

    - ARZ: We've made trades with ARZ and they have new offensive minded HC in Mike LaFleur. They have a stud TE and some good WRs that could be effective with someone like CJ if they can improve the OL and running game. Would we consider Kyler Murray swap with some additional draft capital coming our way?

    - PIT: Aaron may reunite with his old HC, but trading for CJ could be an option if he doesn't. The Steelers have a stud WR, some decent TEs, a solid OL, and an actual running game to support him. McCarthy would probably be a great coach for Stroud and he could benefit from sitting behind AR for a year, but his ego and representation wouldn't agree to that given the timing for his next contract.

    - LAR: Now this has been the one that I could see happening for sometime if McVay believes Stroud could be the man to replace Stafford. While this could be similar to the PIT situation, it would put CJ back in CA and with a Offensive Guru. Rams have two 1sts this year and could make this move with 2 years to evaluate. I'd love to send Schultz with him and get Ferguson back as part of the deal.

    - MIN: Could O'Connell work his magic with Stroud? Maybe, I mean he's won games with a myriad of dudes at QB and resurrected the careers of several QBs. With JJ McCarthy's injuries and below average play, would you take him back as part of the deal and what else would you need to send him to the Vikes? For me, I'd take JJ and a 2027 Min 1st. We can have a QB competition next year and also potentially draft one in 2027.

I know CIN and Joe Burrows has been fantasized about, but that almost has to be him forcing his way out and then us outbidding anyone else. Love Joe, but wouldn't want to get in a bidding war, unless we can make a deal that doesn't kill us.

Yeah, you inspired a rabbit hole response--doubt this is what you wanted but it was interesting to think about some of these options at least.

Caserio is going to ignore top end offensive line talent on the market, load up on elite special teams players, find a third tier vet running back and manuever up and down the draft with 14 trades to net a 6th round pick in 2029 and the 4th best guard in the SEC.
