That’s a fair question, and I wonder the same. It may be above his pay grade. Our current owner, the product of a marriage into an Italian crime family, is the ambassador to Italy because we live in a simulation now. No idea who is in charge or if they have any sense of how to run anything they didn’t just inherit without earning.

Ill give you that technically but the East was super weak then and not comparable to making the finals in the West now.

 

I don't get it. I think most of us believed we had a real shot at a title after last year's (regular season) success. How soon it's forgotten Sengun nearly led Turkey to a championship. No, he's probably not a superstar, but a top 20 player on his contract was great GM work in my mind.

Losing Fred has destroyed everything. His mouth is probably shut if we're 2 games behind the Thunder.

 

My Sengun for Giannis thread should get to 500 pages this summer. Just saying.

 

Fred is way more important than people like to believe…being a tablesetter means a lot, and some of it has nothing to do with what happens on the court

I think if we keep this regime of udoka and stone, Fred becomes an assistant coach in 2 years.

 

Fred is 10000% more committed to playing for his team than KD is…it’s not close. And yeah, they’re professionals…ain’t no one doing this for free, so go get your bag…he got his and he’s all in. This team needs a true PG, and he was the guy. People **** on him who’ve never coached or played at a high level. He’s not a panacea, but for this squad he would have meant a ton. I don’t think it would look like this.

I know y’all **** on Udoka all the time too..dude took that broke ass team to a 2 seed last year with Jalen ****ing Green lol. I don’t talk hoops here much anymore because it’s so reactionary from game to game. We lose, blame the coach…we win, those voices go silent…for stretches of time…then we lose again, it’s Ime’s fault!! I just don’t see the game that way, and i’m wrong a lot so maybe I’m wrong on this too…ask my wife, I’m wrong a lot! I don’t think there’s a conveyer belt of amazing coaches that are gonna churn out ones better than Ime on demand anytime soon. He’s accomplished more in basketball than anyone who ever comments here.

Back to the point of this thread….culture matters a lot. And Durant needs to go somewhere else. I’m not smart enough to know how we make that happen, but I want him gone from the organization I’ve loved since I was about 11 years old.

 

Us needing Fred so much is an indictment to KD. We have a "superstar" who cant run an offense and be a leader and all he does is cry about everyone else. Sengun's fg% would be much higher if he didnt have to stand at the top of the key waiting for KD to come off a screen because thats how kd plays. If we had Luka or even Lebron that pick and roll would be deadly with Sengun. No we have a "superstar" who can shoot really well but doesnt really give you anything else even maturity and leadership. With all he's being paid he's less mature than our young guys.

 

I honestly thought alleged KD burner posts were one of this forums member lol. I know that people are upset but we seen and posted those in this forum every game after a loss. I’m genuinely disappointed that ever post were somewhat true, Jabari was playing like regarded, Sengun tried so many hero (air) ball, Ime have no talent of drawing any clutch time plays and Hornets are basically better than us (well they been better than 90% of the league recently)

 

Deflecting is not 'perfect media training.' It makes you look guilty as hell. He should have said he didn't do it If he didn't do it.

But the real test is how they play on the court. If it's more of the same, then that only adds fuel to the fire around the narrative of KD having poor leadership and being a locker room cancer.

 

And when he says that, you all call him a liar and the spectacle continues. I'd imagine that's the last we really hear of it in the media, and everything carries on as usual. Ie, the professional way.

 

I’d rather go back to losing for a while than play make believe about it. I didn’t think it would backfire like this, and I was ALLLLLL IN on trading for KD. I think I may have been wrong. I’m still cool with Jalen being gone, because that was an issue too…but I didn’t realize KD would be like this. Not that I had a voice in the decision to bring him here, I’m not that important lol…but I’d rethink it now knowing what I know now…and I really don’t want Jalen Green on my roster ever

I didnt want KD because I knew this is what he does. However I did want to trade Jalen for Lamelo Ball or Ja Morant. I did not want to see Brooks go. No idea how that would have turned out but it woulda been better than this.
