It’s time to take a step back and realize how strong of a position our team is in. First lets acknowledge the negatives: •Limitted internal improvement from youngsters •Ime has had questionable moments •Body language and offense has looked suspect •Jabari may or may not be clinically r****ded but there are real positives. We have a GOAT offensive talent AND LEADER in KD. We have two all-stars and soon to be third in Tristen Newton. We can still win the chip sitting at 4th. lets get it. Time for lift off htown
The GM is tarded The HC is tarded Jabari is lowkey tarded Katie and his 8 turnovers is tarded Tari is tarded The situation is crazy and I don’t think it can be fixed.
It's funny to see this thread because the Rockets were #2 seed for most of last year and everyone's like "calm down we are 2 seed and all these young players." Since then, traded lottery pick for 37yr KD, signed/re-signed a bunch of 30+ yr olds in the offseason, and now we are getting these "hey calm down we are the 4th seed." I'm looking forward to next season's "hey calm down we are at least we are hosting a play-in game."
and it’s a fake ass#4 seed. We are still living off those early wins. If you’ve watched the team since Dec (the majority of the season) it’s very clear we are not the 4th best team in the west. I get that GM’s aren’t gonna tell the truth to the public about what they are thinking. But don’t try to sell the fans by citing inaccurate stats and skewed rankings you blatantly know to be false. That was basically the Stone post-deadline press conference.
Nah, we may not be great but neither are those teams around us in the standings. I think we finish 3rd in the west then the crapshoot starts. Our schedule hasnt been the easiest.
It really doesn’t matter. If we finish in the top 4 the spin will be look how great we did even without FVV and Adams. If they finish 6 or below, it will be any team would do worse without their starting pg and best rebounder. Ime is a genius motivator. Then endless videos of Amen and Sengun working on their shooting and KD teaching Jabari how to play like him. I am really praying the Astros are good this year or it’s going to be the worst sports summer in a long time.
Amen and Tari locking up and running off a winning streak is so easy to see coming. Everyone that crashed out in 1st half of regular season will do it again next year.
Yes, but as KD's burner or non-,burner acknowledged, the deadline was a missed opportunity for shooters, handlers and bigs . We had a decent deal ready for Dennis and Keon We allegedly offered nothing but trash for No Way Jose And, we lost Luke and Dougie Fresh without trying. Shameful when you have a 1-2 window with a top 5 in scoring WITH championships. I hate to say it because of my friends in Lac, Sac, PHX and BK, but I miss Morey. He would have tried ..and not said something to the sentiment of it not being our year. That's where I give grace to KD and his alleged burner. He wanted to be here and now we have off-court issues that may have been solved before FVV returns ...yes, I'm hearing mid to late march. Love y'all #freeNic
Beginning of the season, the Rockets won like the 1st seed except OKC was on an even better run. Mid December through Mid January happened when the Rockets were playing like a fringe playoff team/play-in team. Lately, Rockets are back to winning like a 4th or 5th seed, but clearly not the in the class of the No 1 and 2 seeds. I could see Rockets dropping a couple of spots. I could see the Rockets jumping up a couple of spots. I'm not too concerned with the regular season. The problem I see is that the Rockets starters look okay for playoffs, but basicaly have no bench. Reed is really the only good bench player and his skills went MIA for 20 games. In the regular season, it is tough to tell whether the starting lineup will be enough to finish with the 4th seed or higher. I do find it funny that the FVV haters were like see, FVV was holding the Rockets back when things were going great, but now act like FVV had little affect on the Rockets now that the Rockets are merely good without him. Granted, I'm not optimistic of FVV post-injury. The Rockets have an issue of too many non-shooters, but bullyball just isn't working without more depth. The guys that would have allowed the Rockets to play 4 or 5 out are either hurt or unproductive.
lol, we didn’t trade a “lottery pick” for Durant, we traded a 4-year veteran undersized poor-shooting 2-guard who disappears in the playoffs. Once a guy has shown what he is for several years, calling him a “lottery pick” is like an hoping an expired losing lotto ticket is still worth something. Hasheem Thabeet was also a lottery pick.
I think he was referring to the lottery pick (i.e., a pick between 1 and 14) in the deal for KD, and not any of the players.
Yes I was referring to the 10th pick. Which in hindsight made it an even worse move because of the Pelicans willingness to give up an unprotected pick for Queen. In an alternate universe, we could be talking about one of the most loaded draft classes to add to our core while still having a competitive team. Now, I'm not gonna sit here and say I hated the KD trade. I was for the trade at the time. But their subsequent moves, especially Capela signing and later finding out DFS was actually signed while needing surgery, and the FVV contract that vastly paid him above market with an implicit NTC, did raise alarm bells.
I don’t bet, but have the Rockets’ odds of winning the WC changed much? Some might have expected a complete dive after the allegations over AS weekend
Yeah don't panic guys we have a franchise player in Fred for just $25m and no one tried to wrestle this indispensable player away from us. That we're even in the playoff picture without him is a miracle.
