The franchise knew when Fred was out for the season their probability to win sank, when that happens you have to increase your risk profile by allocating the opportunity to someone else. Amen has been ok, but has not shown he can change the direction of the team on his own, Sengun has been given a lot of chances, but the Rockets should have just handed the keys to Reed. He has shown flashes in games hes been given a chance, in very big games as well. When you have a limited amount of time to take the next step in a given season, you should take on more risk, because they need at least one guy to become a super star to carry the team to win a playoff series. As is this team likely is a first round exit, so the focus needs to be going all in on Reed. I can not imagine what that would do to his confidence. The team should make him the focal point of the offense, he needs to be trying to score 30 every night. If it doesnt work, you didn't really give up much of an opportunity cost. One of the biggest issues with this team is they are horrendous offensively and no one guy gets to take over a game every night, the sometimes you, sometimes me, always us was something that worked w the Dillon Brooks team, we had FVV and Adams, it was different. We need Reed to be the offensive system.
it's extremely telling what opposing team's broadcasters and other media (Melo obviously included) think of Reed much higher than our own coach.
The rockets coach was an undrafted scrub that barely ever got playing time. He doesn’t understand offensive players for a reason
The only time that I saw Reed unabashed when it came to taking shots was in the golden state game. He shot so much that Alpi and Amen started looking at him funny. After that game he became more conscious of the hierarchy on this team. Eff the hierarchy and eff Ime. We need Reed to activate beast mode if we’re gonna make any noise. When it comes to shooting, the law of averages applies to Reed.
pretty much all the NBA values Reed more than his coach thumbnail on the YouTube intro clip also how the hell do you embed images on this board (old person fail right here)

The Rockets are not trading Reed to the Lakers and the Rockets aren't taking sloppy seconds from the Mavs. Kerr is likely done. That leaves Udoka as the next best coach for the Rockets using your methodology.
No, Ime sucked as a player, he barely hung on because he played gritty defense, so he VALUES guys who play like he did - but he undervalues those that carried his sorry ass throughout his career. Offense first players - guys who knew that the MAIN objective is to OUTSCORE the other team - if you are efficient on offense you are a very tough out. Balance is important but offensive efficiency is the single most important factor in basketball. DD
