    Wife and I met him a few years back, incredibly nice guy in person. Knew he was dealing with health issues but didn't think they were that bad.....

    Always liked Varsity Blues, especially how it got the ridiculous pressure fathers and coaches put on you that sucked the fun out of high school football.

    apparently a very curable form of cancer but he married an anti-vaxxer/alternative medicine influencer and fell into that rabbit hole

    You might want to click the link in your signature -- you need it. Vaccine lovers trying to conflate the covid shot with everything is a deep form of mental illness.

    He used very aggressive forms of chemo that didn't work and unfortunately drained his entire savings. He also tried alternative treatments in his desperate times as many people -- all over the country --- do. It's the cruel nature of cancer. Now his wife and kids have to pick up the pieces while being financially insecure.

    RIP JVB.

    Every human body reacts differently, it was just unfortunate and sad to see that he could not at least drag this out to 10 or plus years...
