All anyone needs to understand is that he’s capable of being an above average defender. He’s capable of becoming an above average shooter. And he’s 23 yrs old. There are many things Sengun does that upset me greatly, but u don’t trade a guy as good as he is at 23. I wouldn’t trust Stone to pull off a Sengun trade successfully anyway.

 

I wasn't entirely clear but I didn't mean he won't improve at all. I know he will improve, but I've seen enough stagnation in the shooting specifically that I don't ever expect him to add that. I'd be surprised if he did. But I didn't mean to suggest he's already a finished product, like you said, players hit their prime at 27-32. I would be completely shocked if he's ever able to confidently knock down jump shots from any range though, at any point of his career. But he will get better.

 

To question whether he will get to be a perennial all-star type of player is fine. What's dumb is claiming that he is what he is, that at 23 you will never get better and that he hasn't majorly flashed potential. Even in the recent loss he still produced, even if it was a down game for him, still delivering 16 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 blocks. Sure, that's below his normal all-star production and he has a ways to go, but goodness gracious, they are acting like he is delivering DFS numbers. The hatred doesn't make sense for a full homegrown Rockets product with still loads of potential ahead of him.

Personally, I can't recall what anyone on this form said 3-4 days ago, because no one on this form peaks my interest to that magnitude. We're just men talking sports or so I thought.
