it’s likely gonna have to be somebody who hasn’t been a HC before or doesn’t look like they could be Ime’s replacement…because I doubt Ime’s ego could handle that
First you have to buy some stones for Stone. You're kidding yourself if you think he has the balls to tell Udoka it's happening whether he likes it or not. Udoka/CAA will never agree. He literally calls these good shots.
Ime would just say he already has offensive assistants. You can hire whoever you want, but unless Ime,the Narcissist, lets the assistant handle the rotations and bench coaching it will be useless. I get it, the fan base is grasping at straws, because we all see that we are going to have to watch this putrid brand of basketball for at least another year, if not the next 5 years.
Rick Adelman. The only coach since Rudy that brought the best out of everyone without all the drama. It's a shame what Morey did to him.
Offensive assistant? Can we get a new HC/GM/personnel? 1) They don’t think they have an “offensive” problem. To the extent they do, nothing Fred and Steve can’t fix. 2) Good luck getting him to fire his San Antonio/Portland buddies to hire an “offensive assistant”. 3) Is this “offensive assistant” going to turn the personnel into better shooters? 3A) OK no, so who’s being traded? 3B) Is this offensive assistant going to bring them into a more modern offense? (Again, partly goes back to personnel) OK great, I’m doing everyone’s favorite trade Sengun/Jabari/picks for Giannis. And my center is…Clint Capela? Steven Adams? And my shooters around him are…Kevin Durant and…? Kevin Durant and Fred VanVleet? Fred-Amen-Durant-Giannis-Adams They have a coaching problem and a personnel problem and an “offensive assistant” I’m not sure is going to fix it.
While something has to be done, there's probably the same chance of Ime being fired or getting an "offensive assistant" anytime soon.
