[Scotto] Source: The four second-round picks the Minnesota Timberwolves traded to the Chicago Bulls in the Ayo Dosunmu deal are a 2026 second (least favorable of DEN/GSW), a 2027 second (via Cavs), a 2031 second (more favorable of MIN/GSW), and a 2032 second (more favorable of PHX/HOU).
I would’ve have offered the 27 Phoenix pick protected for 1-6 or so. We wouldn’t have had to add Reed who is miles further along than Dillinger. I would’ve considered Reed without a pick though, if I was convinced Ayo’s 3 pt shot is for real. I’m not qualified to make that assessment though and I think Reed’s ceiling is lower than others.
Great trade for minnesota. Solves their biggest weakness Was never going to happen here with useless chode stone
The dude is age 30 my man I know it feels like he's been in the league a long time. If we do get him (I'm skeptical we will) at least he can shoot the damn ball.
I would’ve traded whatever Minnesota did to get Dosunmu. He’s a solid player for sure. Minny looking nice
He's a good player. Perhaps they didn't see him as enough of an upgrade over Okogie, who does some similar things, to be worth any draft capital, even 2nd rounders. I think that's wrong though personally, because what Ayo would have brought is what Okogie, DFS, Tari, Jabari, and even Aaron Holiday all struggle with: Secondary playmaking.
I'm skeptical Ayo and Reed could play together. I see Ayo as annoying on defense, but not sure he can switch onto bigger players well enough to play with Reed. Even if they could, doubtful Ime would play them together. Not easy finding a player with some playmaking, can switch onto bigger players as needed in Rockets defense, and provide shooting when Amen is on the floor.
Yeah - I'm not convinced our issues lie in the margins. We need to do something other than to upgrade roster spots 5-10. I think our biggest issue is establishing a #1 (still), and/ or a primary playmaker who can look after the ball under pressure. If FVV is playing we probably paper over that issue because he has nice synergy with the playing group. He can bring what is lacking and we might well have 5-6 extra wins, and be drinking the 'we're really good' cool-aid. But I still think the problem is there...
This is the second franchise in which Ime's offense has convinced the fans the the best players are not good enough to win a title. You know how that went in Boston. Same will happen in Houston.
Gotta question that just because of the $$. To make that trade, and do better than Dillingham in terms of talent, we're talking about Reed or Amen going out the door. That's a big NO. Tari doesn't earn enough. The likely offer was something involving DFS and 2nds .... that's not better than Dillingham.
This is indeed a team capable of winning the Eastern Conference Championship. Now you just gotta pray Adam Silver trade the Rockets for the Celtics to make this happen.
He didn’t convince the fans. He convince the media. Boston fans didn’t bat an eye when Ime got fired. They were jsut happy to move on from him. Locked on rockets did an episode last week when the host reached out to Boston fans about their lone season with Ime and it was all negative responses. * he didn’t play Pritchard. Pritichard was frustrated and requested a trade * he didn’t play White enough or properly. All th guards took backseat to his preference in Smart. Fast forward to today and Smart is traveling the league and playing for the minimum while White and Pritchard are more valued * over the last seven years or since Kyrie left and it’s been Tatums and Broen team, th Celtics always been a top 5 offense, except for one seasoned I’m pretty sure you can guess that season. * the fans said they ar thankful for the consensus scandal. Said despite. Make the finals that was the most frustrating season they had * Said Ime defensive prowess was overrated. He blew that finals because of his defense. Fans said they would never forgive him for playing drop coverage on Steph Curry. * fans said they never understood the media infatuation with Ime especially since Boston was on tv a lot before and During Ime
Yea might be enough for them to push past whoever they face this year because this time around they might have a harder opponent in the first round or 2nd instead of last year when they had GS without Curry.
Wish they would send us to the East when they add Seattle and Vegas. But I suspect it will be Minnesota, since geographically it already feels like they should be in the Central Divison there anyway; they're not going to break up the Texas Triangle teams. At least then we won't have to deal with a prime Ant Edwards in our conference (unless he gets traded, in which case I hope it's us who lands him).
Yeah saw that X thread. Lots of Celtics fans were seeking to break up Tatum and Brown even if they now pretend like they weren't. One exaggeration there is Pritchard played even less under Mazzulla the following season. He simply wasn't good enough till he worked on his strength, defense and stamina. On the other hand they forgot the biggest eye opening fact about Udoka's Celtics imo:
Is that a sarcastic tweet? Former staff heading up a bunch of lottery teams and a nowhere-to-be-found GT team? It’s actually pretty funny.
