At this point, of course they are. The Pacers got hammered by injuries at the beginning of the season along with losing Halliburton to a torn Achilles in the NBA Finals. Thus, they lost a bunch of games. Since the Pelicans gave them back their 2026 first in a trade made during the NBA Finals, they have every reason to ensure a high draft pick.
