Wow Tesla finally sent a token car to this influencer after he went viral for going 0-42. Nice job. If David Moss wanted to go 1-1 in getting a self driving taxi instead of 1-58, he should have ordered a Waymo.

Looks like the Canadian government doesn't care about protecting their auto manufacturers... :D

It's kind of funny, but China forced foreign car makers to work in conjunction with their fledgling/start-up companies in design and manufacturing if they wanted access to the Chinese market. Foreign car makers greedily said "hell yeah! more sales to another billion+ people!!" Now Chinese took all that shortcut to modernize and improve it, and now are trying to flood the planet with cheap EVs that foreign manufacturers can't compete with on price or tech, for the most part. It's like an automotive version of chickens coming home to roost.

Yes, I think most people saw it coming. Just not this fast.

Someone online wrote that China is what the US thinks it is. I can't say I disagree.

Waymo requires remote operators. Instead of employing Americans, they farm it out overseas. Its no surprise these cars are hitting kids ans going diwn railroad tracks when youre employing female asian operators.

It's cool to see the passion Jay still has for vehicles and how much he researches and notices things about this vehicle.

This is a cool concept that's actually been around for a while. I remember Canoo was supposed to bring out a similar modular design on a skateboard chassis, but they went belly-up just a few years ago. Here we have a modular design on what they decided to call a "Slateboard" chassis. :D About the only thing putrid for me is the damn range on the vehicle. I think he said 230 or something miles, but I believe that's with an optional battery. The standard battery was only supposed to get something like 110-150 miles or so range. That would never work for me.

I'm worried about those exposed fasteners. Seems like nowadays you could go into a store, come back out, and half your vehicle's gone. LOL.

Still like this idea, though, and the fact they're actually trying to build something affordable for the average person. They have a lot of interesting, if not new, ideas and hopefully they'll survive.

A good example of a head to head comparison.

waymos work adequate in low speed inner city environment. But still a long ways off from defensive driving

    Toyota are doing this instead.

After years where they spent tens of millions annually on anti-EV ads because they gambled on hydrogen manufacturing investments. Toyota are now rolling out their EVs.
