Both Giannis and Milwaukee have not been honest with themselves for quite some time. Instead of trading for an aging Lillard in 2023, the Bucks should have traded Giannis. I have no sympathy for Giannis and the Bucks because they all made some really poor decisions. This is a legacy obligation from the trade for Holiday in 2020. The pick obligations owed on the trade for Lillard will be waiting for the Bucks to settle in the future. NBA Future Draft Pick Details 2026 2026 first round draft pick from Milwaukee or New Orleans (more favorable) Atlanta will receive the more favorable of Milwaukee's 2026 1st round pick and New Orleans' 2026 1st round pick and Milwaukee will receive the less favorable of the two (via New Orleans' right to swap for Milwaukee) [Denver-Milwaukee-New Orleans-Oklahoma City, 11/23/2020; Atlanta-New Orleans, 6/25/2025]
I appears that Kuminga has a TO (Team Option) for next season, so the best use for him might be as a vehicle for the Bucks to send immediately to another team for an unwanted player with guaranteed 2026 - 27 salary + appropriate compensation to the Bucks for eating the 2026 - 27 salary. Kuminga Butler? I don't know how to evaluate him since he might be available no earlier than the second half of the 2026- 27 season and it is unknown at what playing level he will be at. Butler $56.8 million (2026 - 27) is a huge chunk of money if he is unable to play no better than at a Journeyman level.
If I'm Giannis, out of the Warriors and Knicks, I go to the Knicks simply because they are younger. It's nice that geezers like Curry and Durant are playing well in the NBA, but geezers haven't translated that energy into playoff success. Right? Maybe I missed someone. Curry himself was 34? Either way, go with youth for a bigger championship window. Which brings up the Rockets... It'd be nice to get another Nigerian in Houston. Maybe a strange fit with Amen. Keep him off the Spurs on the off chance that Wembanyama stays healthy. Keep him off the Lakers, just cause they already got Doncic for nothing, and they're the Lakers.
Not surprised. I see Heat, Warriors, Knicks .... in that order. and ppl will be shocked when they see how little they have to give up for Giannis.
If they do this they are going to be bad for so long once Steph and Giannis are finished, and I'm there for it
By giving up players they are not even sign? Warriors don’t have time to think like that, winning organizations make things happen. Meanwhile Rockets acting like they have 4 hall of famers drafted. Spurs did better tanking and trading in 2 years vs our 5
The cherry on top is Steph + Giannis + trash still isn't good enough to contend. All it would do is add theater to Steph's final years, which might be worth it to the Warriors.
That would be such an odd fit. After the Jimmy Butler debacle, how much would the Heat adjust their "culture" to accommodate an outlier like Giannis?
Well they would definitely be more of a contender than us at least They are essentially trading just brandon podjimski for giannis
If I were the Bucks, I'd jump at the Warriors offer. GSW will suck after Curry is done and Giannis declines rapidly after the same time. Then the picks will be gold.
