Piece of crap CJ took away the easiest Superbowl from the Texans...hard to support him at this point.
I'm not a Reddit person so I'm not familiar. CJ is basically space cadet. He looks empty. We need to get rid of him. I b don't think Mills is the answer but he wins that game.
You can help fix the **** up by addressing the Oline and RB rooms. Personally, I would bring in a veteran consultant to help the offense and replace Johnson as QB coach.
Hate to keep beating a dead horse, but Gary Kubiak would likely pick up the phone for a consultation job, I would imagine.
He ain't even that old. Not a senior citizen yet, at least (barely). I say go for it, our offenses weren't bad under Kubes despite having Matt f***ing Schaub under center
As I said before, CJ is broken (TSD, CTE, etc). He either gets fixed or his career in the NFL is over. If the Texans' "braintrust" pays him big before he is "fixed", they will have doomed the franchise for many years to come. They should at least TRY.
It’s a long offseason, but Tbh I think our only hope are changes coming from the top, I am looking at you Hannah, you are our savior. Take control of the ship!
I think we can all agree the front office is not going to change the QB or the coach, so what we have left is to make the best of the situation. Lets get a bell cow #1 RB to go with Woody and J Jordan (we have something with this cat), get Tank back and then fix this mother flippin O Line. I am so envious of teams like the Chargers, (we would kill for Herbert) they had a decent Offense, but they deemed it not good enough and went and got Mike McDaniels........what do we do, stick with our SECOND first year play caller whose scheme is just BORING I`m not gonna give up on CJ, simply because I would drive myself crazy because we know dam well he isn't going anywhere......they will pick up his 5th year option so he is ours for at least 2 more years......................if they sign him to a new deal after the past 2 seasons and that deal is the "market rate" I am going to seriously consider that that they have no clue what they're doing, but what little faith I have in this team says they "should" be prudent and cautious and drag this out as long as possible
You should rewatch the Denver game to see how Mills reacts against a top 5 scoring defense (top 5 overall). Hell, you can watch 3 quarters of the Bills game (entire 2nd half). Mills is not winning that game...on the road...with no run game and 2 missing top targets.
Again, You need him to score points. Pats scored 21 points that were not related to any turnovers (no short fields). The offense HAD to put up points.
Again, I'm not saying Mills is the answer at QB. All he was needed to do is manage the game and not completely give it away like Stroud did. There's no excuse for how Stroud played. He's terrible and he cost us going to the SB. That's a fact. He can go back to California because that's where he wants to be anyways.
Mills would have gotten DESTROYED in that pats game, it would've been a 30+ point loss. Mills is absolutely awful, he's a backup for a reason (i guess an ok backup but he's just so bad). Texans had 16 first downs in that game, Mills isn't sniffing even half that.
No, CJ has to play better. However, the Defense gave up 21 points on its own. He didn't not cost the Texans the Super Bowl. The Texans were not good enough on offense. You have to be able to run the ball when in bad weather. You have to be able to run the ball when your top 2 receiving threats are out.
CJ was absolutely abysmal and they almost overcame his performance. I don't think Mills is good but I don't think he would have thrown 4 picks either. Marks fumble certainly didn't help either. I don't mind Mills as a backup. I f they move on from him I won't lose any sleep. Just don't pay CJ is my main point.
They have obviously failed if "developing him" includes supporting him with a competent offensive line, a running game, and top-notch receivers
