LOL at Durant being our best ball handler. Amen is still growing into the roll. His assists are way up and his turnovers are way down. Most of the time when he picks up the ball it is the right move and he hands it over to Durant and resets in the corner.
Still a week before the deadline. I'd bet they are still looking for a ball handler,... hopefully someone who can also replace FVV long term. This season and next FVV would've been excellent but with his injury it could speed up a few plans. If we go into the playoffs with Reed or Amen as a "starting pg" we'll get exposed 2nd or 3rd round. I'm not saying in today's NBA game we need a traditional pg to be one of the best players, but we need a player to keep the turnovers down, defend the point of attack, and set the tone.
I'm pretty much here. I think Reed and Amen will be the ones on ball in the future, and very often now. I don't want to quibble much in the Amen vs. Reed debate except I don't think either should be a heliocentric player like Harden. I have more faith that Reed tightens up his ball handling than I do in Amen fixing his shot. Edit: Only real concern with Reed is whether his defense will get good enough that the Rockets can play with some better offensive players more. I think he will be fine whether on or off ball on offense.
Not according to Ime's interview on 790am today. He thinks Amen is progressing and feeling more comfortable at the PG position
right now Amen's second to Alpi in assists and he has a lot better ATO ratio Alpi has high hopes about Amen being another playmaker with him. Is Alpi wrong?
He’s progressing but we need a starting point guard who can hit a wide open 3. Amen will be best used off the ball until he can get his 3 point % into the 30’s at minimum
