Jabari is a hopeless perimeter defender

 

We need David Wood and his son Christian

 

Double big against a 3pt shooting center is just asking for trouble.

Ime needs to understand this and adjust accordingly.

Alpy and KD are great but they are getting killed ball watching. All of the hustle and effort he showed last year on defense is gone. KD especially refuses to ever box out. Effort is contagious, both KD and Alpy need to step it up, we have enough talent for them to dial back their offense in favor of regaining our defensive identity.

As for the offense… We should not be using KD and Alpy as a crutch offensively so much. Our offense is so stagnant. Pick up the dribble and spend 10 seconds trying to make an obvious pass to one of our stars.

Our roster is “flawed” but we are not taking advantage of our strengths. Amen is not great in pick and roll but we aren't doing him any favors. As the ball handler he should be getting picks from Jabari or Durant whose shooting gravity will give him a downhill lane. His handle is a work in progress so why make him navigate through the trees to get to the bucket? He should not be using picks from Steven Adams or Capela, that is super easy to defend with drop coverage. Additionally, we saw great success with him as the roll man toward the end of his rookie season. He would be amazing in that role as some kind of Draymond Green / Josh Smith hybrid setting picks for Reed or KD.

There is a real lack of creativity from our coaching staff and its killing us.
