It may be another example of NBA teams being way more cautious with calf issues than in the past.

Not worried about this guy vis-à-vis the Rockets. I haven't seen anyone that size have a long career in the NBA.

Not a Dr., but “calf strains” have direct correlation to “DVT”.

Him living on the perimeter would prolong his career though.....we shall see.

Calf injuries, Hamstring, Oblique strains......those are nagging injuries but nothing season ending....

The tie to Achilles injuries is serious, indeed.

I dont think so man he is 7'6 playing on the perimeter requires a lot of herky jerky movements that puts a lot of strain on that frame and those ligaments.

I acknowledge the greatness of Wemby but since day 1 I have said I rather have Amen cuz a guy that tall wont have a long and lengthy career.

The sweet spot for big men seems to be 6'10-7'1.

Not exactly - a calf strain is a calf strain and not a DVT....but a DVT can feel like a calf strain at first(I know - I have had two of them). That being said, given that Wemby has had clots in the recent past, there is no way they didn't IMMEDIATELY do a doppler of his leg after the complaint. I think if they are reporting that he has a calf strain and a relative return date, that means they have already ruled out a DVT.

    Shams Charania:

"Spurs star Victor Wembanyama suffered a slight hyperextension in his left knee in tonight's win over New York -- and initial tests came back negative and showed no major injury."
