Not trying to nitpick but in my circles it was very much appreciated and noticed. It’s probably one of the more revered albums of the grunge scene. It was not a huge mainstream success but you still heard wake up and river of deceit fairly often on the radio back then. The album on the whole was too dark for mainstream consumption though, if that’s what you mean. I could roll with that. I think many put it up on the mount rushmore of grunge records.

“I’m above” and “I don’t know anything” were also fairly big radio hits.

I'll get over it eventually on this track, but Bob Weir's cutoff jorts are distracting.

Have you heard any of the Bruce Hornsby on keyboards live stuff?

eta: what's the best version of Franklin's Tower you can find?

Maybe the best live version of that song I've ever heard

    Thanks for playing it.

Yeah, he surprisingly injected another level of "musicality" to their sound.

I say surprisingly because I was not a big fan of his solo stuff...a little too soft & poppy for me, but he brought a great flow & sound to the Dead.

I've got a soft spot in my soft rock heart for Hornsby and The Range's song:

Not sure I've ever heard another song by him

eta: Oh hell...that reminded me of this song:

eta3: the youtube algorithm is making me feel things

    Outstanding

Possibly my favorite original song of theirs. Maybe. Possibly.
