I saw Denver on a PBS special from Red Rock Co and it was friggin awesome, the dude was so good and I can say the same about Karen C, she was on another level of singing.............all the lip synchers out there can take a page on what vocals really are............no dancing, just real vocals, my personal favorite of this type of folksy music is James Taylor............but for this poll I give them a tie, they were both awesome and shared a weird type of death.

While I preferred John Denver, Karen by a long shot. She had an incredible singing voice and their albums were immaculately produced pablum for the people.

There is a John Denver concert video on YouTube I find hilarious because there was like this one black dude in the audience and John was talking back and forth to him between songs because he was really a fish out of water in a white audience. But, John was able to connect with the guy. You could tell the guy was dragged to the show by I think a white female friend. I always enjoyed that interaction as it made John appear personable and he had a way of talking to his audience live that felt really down home. It was just an experience.

I've not seen a lot of Karen C. live stuff but she had a way about herself as well. She also played some killer drums back in the day which I've seen videos of and was very good from what I experienced. She was just a calming presence when she sang. It sucks she had the eating disorder problems.
