This reminds of the Morey tenure when we had a glaring need for rim protection and he refuse to get a good backup center

Players getting experience is the fastest way to get experience.

Who are we robbing of experience by getting a backup point guard? Reed Sheppard? I don't think Ime is going to play him in the playoffs anyway, it'll all be Aaron Holiday.

Amen should be getting back-up ball handling reps, and Reed after that in the regular season, AH in the playoffs

I mean, Amen has been playing literally 40 minutes a lot of these games even when FVV was still healthy and he's definitely getting the opportunity to handle the ball and initiate plays a good amount, so I think he'll be fine. Ime has been treating him like our best player in terms of opportunities.

I think it's a valid point that this team is better long term if we are maximizing the talents of our young guys still developing - and that requires playing time. I'm not against a backup PG but an "upgrade" is going to cost and we shouldn't be letting go of assets to facilitate a regular season weakness and we don't yet know what our playoff weaknesses will be(although we can assume it has something to do with shooting/passing - ie. how we break zones). It's also worth noting that in the playoffs starters tend to play more minutes so "backups" don't tend to make a lot of impact to those games unless you are the 6th/7th man in the rotation(or if you have a persistent injury risk).

Guys like Tate/Landale are somewhat expendable but when you start trading picks/young guys - I start to cringe. In some ways, we need to take our lumps in the playoffs this year - the worst thing would be to rush development by panic trading.

Highly unlikely, we like our guys + our massive amount of picks are clenched as tightly as Zion's girdle.

Again, I'm talking about trading second round picks and salary filler/fringe rotation players here. These kinds of moves are exactly why we've been collecting second round picks on a deep roster, no SRP is getting playing time on this team in the next few years, and SRPs aren't going to move the needle in a major trade for a star player.

I get wanting the Rockets to make a move. What I don't get is the hate for Stone. The guy hasn't hit on 100% of every personnel move he's made since he became GM (no GM does), but he built a roster of players and brought in a coaching staff that went from being a bottom five team in the league to arguably a top five team in the league in two freaking years! What more do you guys want from him?

I'm on board with dealing for a star, but I don't want someone who's going to be washed in 2-3 years, especially if we had to waste young, talented players to acquire them. Staying pat with a super young talented team that's already 2+ years ahead of schedule makes a hell of a lot more sense than going all in and breaking up the talented core to push for a title you probably won't win.

The Bulls too, they have a terrible GM that doesn’t value draft picks. We need to hit them up about Colby White

This is the one I'd like to see the most and I think we could get him for a good deal

They just traded away DeAndre Hunter for expirings, picks walls and 2nd rounders. They traded away Bogdanovich for Two scrubs
