My understanding is that wild bears are absolutely lousy with parasites, worms, and disease. You have to cook it heavily like pork or you're pretty much guaranteed trichinosis. Did anybody ever figure out where his brain worm came from?

Bear is off limits for me and my family and friends. It is riddled with parasites, it really isn’t very good tasting and is difficult to cook with.

I know some people want to try everything but bear really shouldn’t be on the menu.
