In Living Color likely inspired MAD TV and a lot of other sketch comedies; and indirectly kept (horrifically written and low rated) black sitcoms marketable post-Cosby. Also in retrospect had a fairly deep cast. Noreen from Seinfeld doing Kinison is quite the time capsule.

 

I came here to do this, stop takin' my jokes son.

 

Actually need to add that I probably don't think it's a top five show.

Honorable Mention: Carol Burnett, Jeffersons, Taxi, Cheers, Mad About You, Seinfeld (a bit overrated, though-Seinfeld can't act), Parks and Recreation

I've been watching 3rd Rock From The Sun and to me it's easily the funniest sitcom ever

It's so underrated

 

Its been forever since I watched this............gotta go back and watch. Kristen Johnston was a smoke show

 

I gotta add Impractical Jokers to this list.

I agree with Family Guy, All in the Family, Barney Miller, and my all-time favorite, Hogan's Heroes!
