Maldonado's entire purpose at the plate is to watch pitches until there are two strikes then perhaps swing and to also bunt with a runner on and less than two outs.
No other alternatives should be considered.

 

Bryce Matthews needs to be called up next year, Pena batting stance and swing is terrible
