This guy is Chandler Parsons 2.0. Who is another player who has talked so much and been quoted so much for so little on-court success?

 

Morey secretly regrets trading Ben for Harden.

 

Let's not be too harsh on poor Ben!

He did average 15-8-8 over 4 seasons in Philly, and played outstanding defence - in those 4 years he led the team in win shares twice, and was in the playoffs every season (and got knocked out in the 2nd round 3 out of 4 times). The main issue is his hesitation about shooting the ball (from whatever range) - and the lolworthy drama that came with his meltdown in passing up that open dunk (and subsequent mental health tapout).

He certainly has a LOT to prove
But he's not Chandler Portions bad....

 

OK, I'll concede he showed promise. But he still talks a lot every offseason. And his career earnings in proportion to his output may be in the same league as Chandler Parsons, although surely Parsons has him beat in $/win share.

 

He produces - way more than others who have had bloated contracts.
But, if you multiply his overpay by his overtalk and add in his vanishing acts...

Maybe we should use him as a category of comparison for others??

 

I wonder if Morey has called Brooklyn about a Harden/Simmons swap. Would be worth it for the lulz if nothing else.

 

Think he'll get some numbers in a somebody has to be on the floor and get numbers scenario. But that's different than having actual impact on the floor.
