We're pretty damn lucky M. Perez was worse than Javier. This game would be theirs if M. Perez was even just average today...

Astros going to need more offense.

 

All of the pitchers greatly benefited from being in the 6 man rotation last year, unfortunately we don’t have enough quality arms and too far back in the division to justify it this year.

I would still send him out for the 5th because there is a 5 run lesd and he's only at 73 pitches.

Short leash, but with 6 more days before an off day and Dubin only getting through 4 yesterday, gotta try to get him through 5 and save the bullpen some.

 

Javier has been a dud this year

 

Brown and Javier getting shelled, Valdez out, McCullers out, Garcia out, Urquidy out.

JP France has turned out to be a hell of a pitcher.

 

Their kicker, Janikowski, who hadn’t homered in 2 years, homers of Javier’s rather visible, invisiball

 

Javier has a mechanical issue going on. It’s made that fastball hittable. That isn’t good.

Astros need pitching at the deadline based on what we’re seeing… not hitting.

 

Another bad signing in the off-season. So, it is no fluke that Javier has been bad, he gave up a 5 run lead a few games ago. His ERA is in the overpaid territory. Memo to Astros, don't bank on pitchers who had 1 great season (2.54 in 2022). 3 seasons of around 3.50 ERA.
