3rd best OPS on the team vs LHP (1st BA, 2nd OBP, 3rd SLG)

eta: Alvarez and Tucker are 1-2 in OPS. Chas is an unChasLike 7th, behind both Maldy and Julks.

Chas crushes lefties. Dustball bats him 8th.

But Dusty said OPS is just a “fan stat”

    I like the move.

I'm just surprised that I like it.

And surprised that Dusty made it.

However, based on that, he and Chas should be higher and Alex lower.

    Altuve
    Dubon
    Tucker
    Alex
    Abreu
    Chas
    Diaz
    Julks
    Maldy

    ( based on these starters)

Let's jump on this clown and get into the Rangers bullpen early.

    I say:

Multiple runs in the first and keep adding on.

Make the Rangers bring in a relief pitcher before the Astros have to.

9-8 win for the good guys.

I don't know about all that.
However I do think if he had consistent playing time he will be a valuable player for someone.

Has Diaz solved hitting against lefties yet?

He was awful in the minors though…. Reverse splits like that tend to play out, at least initially.

For ***** and giggles, here's what a strict statboy's Stros lineup would be vs LHP today

    Meyers LF/CF (.359 OBP, 3rd behind Tucker/Dubon)
    Dubon
    Tucker
    Julks DH
    Maldy
    Chas LF/CF
    Bregman
    Abreu
    Altuve

Not sure we know definitively, that we will know too much more, after just 4 more at bats.

Winning either of these next two games will take a miracle. Atros rotation is in shambles.

Dusty's lineup decisions are not helping the offense. You gotta maximize the bats especially without Yordan.

Javier... glorified reliever with too many innings on his arm to be a starter

To be fair...from what I saw yesterday at least a couple of those steals had a whole lot of help from the pitchers...massive jumps.

But yes, Diaz is a better defensive catcher than Maldy now.

    Fun Facts:

Last season, Javier made his 16th appearance in the team's 81st game (74.2 IP, 4 games in relief + unknown unused warmups, 1291 official pitches, 81 P/G)

This season, Javier has made 16 appearances through 81 games (87 IP, all starts, 1474 pitches, 92 P/G)
