Its a wash. KMJ actually tries on defense. Cam is a better bucket getter neither are knock down shooters and both are undersized for their natural position as SF/wings.

Doesn't strike me as a brilliant mind, but maybe he's just shy/socially anxious.

yah that was gonna be my response. Some people just don’t like to talk. My brother in law is like that and lot of people think he is a jerk but he’s an extremely good guy.

Cant judge a basketball player by how he answers questions. Seems smart though. His answers were fine

Man he’s also literally 18, I couldn’t imagine trying to speak to high level executives and grimey media personalities while trying to do my job at that age.

You had to get him at 20 for sure. I'm a little pessimistic because I can't remember any instance where a top guy dropped so much on draft night and he still had a great career.

Closest I can think of is Gerald Green but it took him a few years to find himself and be a solid role player.

Cam's mom said she would yell things at Cam to do better during games and it was like he had tunnel vision. It's not a bad thing.

You know who did this? Kobe, remember when Chris Rock tried talking to him in a game.

I think he wanted to come here since he was in houston for like 2 months pre-draft training with Aaron Miller. He tanked his value on purpose.

Then why was he considered a top 5 pick by most?

I mean KMJ is a nice role player and all, but top 5 pick should have serious all star potential.

Don’t get me wrong. For the 20th pick nothing to complain here. I’m just genuinely curious here.

He was considered a top 5 pick by journalists not nba organizations. Thus why he wasn't picked in top 10. Journalists know next to nothing.

Someone posted this video of him and his family either in this thread or another. I didn't get any of the bad interview vibes with him.

Stayed away from GARM last night (way too much activity going on!), and I have been a bit critical of Cam previously. But getting him at #20? I LOVE it. We'll have to wait and see what all the fuss was about, but I'm super excited about things moving forward.

Journalist nail over 90% of the first round when it comes to the range players go in.

I think they know a little more than next to nothing.

Remember when Joey Dorsey killed the interviews and became Ray Lewis with a basketball?

    Good times

Rashard Lewis is the obvious one here.

Still amazing that every single team passed on a top 15 green room pick including Houston - 3x - and he went on to become an all star.

That was the bad old days when it was just Rudy and Carroll, a bunch of old school scouts and a copy of Street & Smiths College Basketball Preview making the picks.

Now we're in much better hands with ... Eh never mind

these videos are fun to watch after the draft. seems like the medical concerns are valid. also quotes from his parents that show up later "150%".

seems like a good kid/family. i'm excited to see him grow.

The part that was not talked about that much is that his last year at Nova was not that good either.

Played a part and just out in the open now.

I would not grade every journalist the same way, some are definitely more instinctual, knowledgeable than others.

They do know more than most of us.
