Ben Simmons as a Brooklyn Net

This dude is not getting above veteran minimum for his next contract.

 

Dodge this bullet. Cannot do well in this league if u have to play 4 v 5 on one end

Well, Simmons had 0 point on 0-3 shooting, 13 assists, 2 turnovers and +10 in 26 minutes.

Is he the anti-KPJ?

 

He's the anti-something.

 

He's a good fit as a role player next to 2 stars who want to jack up a lot of shots.

 

Somewhere between 10-12M per year is probable for him as he is right now. He still gives you size, playmaking in transition, and good defense. Doesn't require field goal attempts. 10-12M for a role player seems okay, given that there are some desperate teams out there...

 

Agree with that range, Maybe even gets a large 1 year deal to see if he can try to bounce back and prove himself. I think when I posted that he was either injured again, or just putting up a series of awful games or making a new excuse. The guy has been a distraction mostly because of his contract size, otherwise I dont think he's done anything off the court. Westbrook has had a bit of a resurgence off the bench, so if he can turn it around at age 34, then I think there is some hope for Simmons to being a useful NBA player again.

 

He’s become like a point guard version of Dennis Rodman. But without the confidence.

 

The problem with that is he is on a max deal which makes his contract one of the worst in the league.

 

Just coming back in here to talk about how GARM was obsessed w/ this guy a couple years ago, and he is still never developing beyond a defender, facilitator.

Albatross contract, he should get either bought out and signed by one of the worst teams in the league, or get traded to a really bad team to give a superstar a chance at the chip.
