    I think that's what ultimately put Verlander over the top against Gerrit Cole. He had one more win (21 vs 20), and a slightly lower WHIP, but Cole had both the ERA and K titles.

    Hensley, unlike JJ, does not scream overmatched, albeit in a much smaller sample size. JJ can hit the ball very hard but he has terrible discipline and pitch recognition.
