    The Astros entire development plan for pitchers is to find guys with one great pitch, and hope they work out.

    IE: Framber's Curveball, Garcia's Cutter, and Javier's Fastball.

    Doesn't always work, but when it does it sets a pretty high floor considering that all these guys have an elite wipe-out pitch.

    The level of respect he gets from the pitchers to the coaching staff is amazing. Whenever his name is mentioned around Astros officials it turns into a five minute gush fest about how smart Maldonado is and how he runs the show. Not bad for a guy that’s an f-bomb every other word that comes from his mouth.

    I wonder sometimes if he will replace Baker as manager or go into the Astros front office.
